I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

This may be the dumbest thing you see on twitter today.

I mean he at least makes a few points about how it’s a bad idea with their cap, the assets it would take to get him, and it would stall a rebuild.

Now I present you with this

@hputenis

Went with some McDonald’s tonight. Been eating really healthy lately but was craving a Big Mac. Well... big mistake! Had one that attacked me from the sides. Started out as just air then boom, the fresh sounds of Niagara Falls and the smell of any alley in Baltimore on garbage day.

Question for the blog: what are the odds that the Eagles hiring of a QB coach with a seemingly strong relationship with Jalen Hurts was coincidence?

A coach who left a position of more responsibility to come to the NFL.

Any chance that he was actually recommended by Hurts himself?

Please, no more mock drafts, they're all abject nonsense.

He was considered a rising star, and he developed Dak (so start the rumors) and Trask (2nd rd pick?).

If Johnson succeeds with Hurts (or a rookie), he's greased the way to a OC job and then a shot at HC.

He was a rising coach and being a QB coach in the NFL is a step up from OC at Florida, at least in my opinion. The relationship angle is so over blown. Hurts dad coached him in high school. Ok. A small college program he was a part of unsuccessfully recruited a 4 star prospect. That’s it. It’s more of a coincidence than anything.

Well to be fair, Hurts has referred to him as "family”.

That sounds like some special sauce☹️

Good god.  I would burn down the Eagles offices if this was the draft.  Horrendous.

I like Pitts and Hamsah and Brown that late, but I'm not crazy about the rest...

Hmmm ...... "situation” is a broad term.

In 2021 the Eagles are paying $34M for Wentz’s contract, $1.5M for Hurts, and don’t have a #2 QB on the roster at present

The Giants have Daniel Jones, who is likely not going to pan out as the Giants hoped, with Colt McCoy as #2

DAL will likely get Dak signed or tagged at around $38M.  Not sure if Andy Dalton can be re-signed

WAS has Kyle Allen as starter (who ESP is unaware of?) and Heinicke as #2.  Worth noting WAS has a lot of cap room and some draft capital to pursue a QB (jump NE for Mac Jones?)

At this moment?  I’d take DAL "situation” 1st, and the rest tied for last (not good).  I’d put bets on WAS being 2nd by training camp, though.  They have options

There is an obvious joke here, but I’m gonna let it go.

I'm guessing the Falcons take him. Jets go Wilson.

GMs are going to have to do their background checks and lots of interviews to figure out if Zach Wilson is more Josh Allen, or Jay Cutler ..... COVID might hamper their ability to do so as fully as in other years

After Pitts it’s a train wreck.

Reminds me of back when they said Wentz was a genius with a photographic memory.

yeah I thought the same thing. Back in the days when wentz was a student of the game and incredibly football smart. Rather than being uncoachable, and doesnt know how to read defenses to make the right reads on 3rd downs and blitzes.

those were the days.

If I look at the Colts roster as a model, they have that group of WRs who are small or average size and faster. And then they have that group who are bigger possession types.

Considering Reagor is in place as last years 1st round pick, it makes me feel Chase  would be the preference as that possession type that we dont have.  His main competition would be Fulgham in camp, so its clearly a need.

Im guessing eagles lean Chase, over Smith for that reason.

based on the recations to the above post it seems you two dont remember what reports said about Wentz in his early career vs what they said once the media, and fans turned on him.

it is. It blows my mind. I cant even begin to imagine what the hell happened to make things change so drastically.

His regression is just mind-boggling. That concussion in the Seattle playoff game must have done something to his psyche and mental acuity.

Actually, they inherited Hilton. Pascal (6'2 207) was promoted from the PS, they drafted Pittman (6'4 223) and Patmon (6'4 225), Harris (5'9 175) and Dulin (6'1 215) were UDFAs stashed on the PS last year.

I expect Sirianni to try and salvage JJAW, and for the Eagles to sign a couple big UDFAs to develop on the PS. Fulgham and JJAW are the only full sized WRs on the roster. Might take another shot at Butler as a WR.
