Their takedown of how appalling the Eagles LB corp has been for 15+ years was quite something to listen to.  You get what you pay for, in the large parts but boy oh boy, it highlights that today, the Eagles don't need another 1st round WR in the draft.  The D is the hottest of hot messes.

15+ years?  That’s nonsensical.  Bradham-Hicks-Kendricks was a solid LB group.  Hicks just couldn’t stay healthy and Schwartz didn’t know how to let Kendricks play to his strengths.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

A QB I’d like to see the Eagles sign... Jameis Winston

Why to make sure the Eagles pick first in 2022?

First attempt.  You'll all hate it.  Not at all how I would have wanted the board to break...but, uh...that is 5 first round picks in 2022.  I'm going to go out on a limb and say they need to revise their trade metrics.

Makes you wonder how much of the problem was drafting, and how much was coaching/player development and medical/training.

Hicks plays 16 games last two years, huh? One full season in four as an Eagle.

Schwartz keeps plugging in converted safety types, KGH, Gerry, that seemed to be a strategy, go smaller and faster.

Every young DB was a fail, even at safety, veterans McLeod and Jenkins and Slay at CB worked, but couldn't develop young DB.

Same at WR, what WR was developed under Doug? Brought in Jeffrey, Smith, Wallace, DeSean, Rodgers.

Yet Stoutland hits with Vaitai, Seumalo, Mailata, Driscoll, Herbig, only miss was Pryor (6th rd) who regressed last season.

Ok OL guys here’s another small school lineman I think can be a great Player.

Spencer Brown 6’9 322 LBs. From Northern Iowa
Obvious size and length. Very strong and can move. Nice athlete for his size. biggest knock is footwork from what I’m reading but put in time to work out with Joe Staley former 49ers OT.

Here some footage from his senior bowl workout.

Why is it Doug failed to develop WRs but Stout gets credit for the OL?

It’s not on play callers to develop players. They are supposed to get production and put them in positions to succeed. Position coaches do the developing.

Because Dougs gone but Stoutland is still here, duh

Better question for afan is has Howie ever made any mistakes in his life?

Man this kid is a wrecking ball. More video (a long one) of OT from UNI Spencer Brown.

No.  Didn't you hear?  We are going to load up on more weapons in the draft and become the KC Chiefs, with Jalen Hurts as our QB.

Mac Jones would be my guy.  I hear he's a favorite of yours.

I know you don't mean it one bit, but in a way I really hope so.. 😄

Kid is a rail , and needs to get much stronger , base included , lots of reach blocking.

he is a project

It's on the HC to choose the right position coaches, and Doug's expertise is on offense.

Some HCs want position coaches to coach to the scheme, not the player (that is, get players game ready, not focus on player development).

taylor or brisett make sense but only if the cost is low

im more interested in the backup being a mentor than winning games

That assumes that they want to mentor Hurts versus taking his spot.

If you want a mentor that doesn't seem to care about all of the other issues, choose Foles.  Again,  he is better than Hurts and would have a strong contingent calling to start him.  Probably a bad idea.

That’s good. Would like OL but I trust you just went with how the board fell. Thanks for doing something realistic and not think you’re smart accumulating 16 picks

3rd round....sure.   2nd round or higher....no thanks.  But the 3rd round is for projects.  Are there any college Tight Ends that can convert to LB?  If so, he's our guy in the 3rd.

Mac Jones may go top 10 by all reports I’m seeing. He could be 3rd QB off the board. If Daniel Jones can go 6, better yet Trubisky 2, Jones can go pretty high.

He’s plenty strong. That’s he’s best trait. He was dominate at the senior bowl. Is he a finished product? no of course not but he is big strong athletic and with some technique polishing could be a great OT of the future.

Under Doug, we saw a failure to develop, and in some cases actual regression, of offensive players everywhere but the line.  And Doug inherited Stoutland.

I loved Mac Jones in round 2 before the hype train rolled in.  I think, in the right offense, there is a chance he could be worth a top 10 pick and then some.  But there's not much value there, as is.  We are at the stage where we need to stack up on roster talent and find hidden value in accurate passers in rounds 2-3.

@Original Sin

You were saying Brown needs to get much stronger? He benched 500LBs 😂 how much more stronger can he get? I don’t think you seen him play are know much about the kid.

I'd be ok if they took Wilson assuming the unlikely event he fell to 6th - no interest in trading up.  Aside from that, I agree that we should be building the rest of the team and look to QB as the final piece so we can either take advantage of a low cap charge or make a Brady-TB type move.
