I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Watson?  Howie would be forgiven.

Anyone seen Patrick Peterson at the airport yet?

I thought he was staying in AZ ?

It was a joke bud because we seem to be forever linked with him (amongst other players too).

That's fair I'm certainly not going to argue the second pick from last year. At the time it was a bad pick and it only becomes a good pick now when the damage has been done.

We are definitely in "wait and see" mode with that selection.  I hope he succeeds for the team, but I have my doubts.  However, the damage is already done and we have a couple of years of mediocre performance to go through, because of Howie's inept roster management.

Better Eagle, Marcus Goodwin or Frank Gore?

Maybe LeCharles Bentley has them beat?

He was there earlier with Jalen Ramsey.

Ok ,

Josh Weinfuss of ESPN reported the Cardinals and two clubs that "have been playoff teams in the last two seasons" are leading the chase for the veteran

Everybody that was on an NFL team last year will be a year older this year. Even our youngest players are going to be a year older. Who ... freakin ... cares ... ? Right now our oldest players are some of the NFL's best players (Kelce, Brooks, Johnson, Graham, Cox). Pretty much every team is doing what Howie did with contracts. It's the NFL norm. Personally, I'm not worried about your level of hope. I'm looking forward to see how this team comes together under a new staff. Even with the roster we have and all the injuries and bad play we saw last year, we were "in" virtually every game. I'll actually be shocked if we aren't at least a .500 team next season.

Can you be the best if you can't stay on the field anymore?

Didn't know they're getting QB type money now

Watson would be a horrid mistake, given his style of play, and his average arm, what do you think his career longevity will be?

Meanwhile, if you strip the next two drafts, that means no defense, few targets and an aging OL.

And how would the Eagles fit his current contract under the cap? He's affordable in 2021, but $35M salary in 2022, goodbye free agents. Then the extension in 2023 . . .

You wouldn't

So 32 year old Trent Williams gets $55M guaranteed, $23M a year.

Lane Johnson effectively has a 5yr/$70M deal with about $35M guaranteed starting at 31. Doesn't look so bad now.

Brooks restructure makes his deal 4yr/$70M with $22M guaranteed, starting at 32

Watson would be a mistake, he would limit what eagles can do in the draft and money, build the rest of the team first , then find a QB , if Hurts isn’t the answer

what did Watson ever win ? With better team talent than eagles currently have

The Washington Football Team is signing FA RB Lamar Miller to a 1-year deal, per

Lane has to play for this to be true.  He is a tough ombre no doubt but I am concerned he may be beginning the Peters Path.

If any team should do it, Washington should make the run at Watson. It'll take a lot, but getting him would solidify them as a top contender in the NFC IMO.

Watson. Bezos. Washington Package Handlers. 2022.

This is becoming a weekly occurrence but Jason Avant’s/Quinton Mickell’s podcast this week is incredible.

His thoughts on Nelson Agholor are precisely what some of the sages on the EMB have been shouting from the roof tops.

Just outstanding podcasting.

I think the concerns with Watson's arm have been put to rest.  His arm isn't an issue.  I think you're right in terms of the resources for this team.  They would have to give up far too much draft capital and cap space to make Watson a worthwhile trade.

And with his sexual harassment lawsuit he fits in with WFT culture.

The problem with Watson's arm is most mobile QBs (Wilson is the notable exception, but even he's getting tired of being beat up) are no longer mobile by 30.

So with an average arm, and not a lot of experience being a less mobile pocket QB, you have to wonder how he'll age in his 30s.

The pocket QBs tend to age better b/c they not only take less of a beating, but they depend on their eyes, not their legs and that doesn't change in their 30s.

The other issue with Watson is he hasn't shown he can carry a team, and he's always had a top #1 WR (Hopkins, Cooks last year). He made the playoffs the first time with a top 10 defense, 2nd time with an average defense, last year 4-12 with a defense as bad as the Eagles, while Wentz/Hurts went 4-11-1. Houston scored 378 and 384 points the last two years, Eagles scored 385 and 334. So I can't see him turning this team around without a big influx of talent.
