Well Eagles have the player with the coolest last name on their team.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

What type of law do you practice?  I'm an IP litigator.

None.  I was an executive in the claims area for a very large multinational insurer and responsible for the general liability line with some cross responsibility for auto liability.  I was responsible for IP litigation for about a decade as part of my role.  Retired now.  The woman that reported to me that headed up that team was phenomenal.  It was interesting when we would explain cases to others in the department because even the folks that formerly practiced really didn’t get IP law.  Trying to explain how the Lanham Act might respond to a suit over colors, for example, and they would just get befuddled because they were used to usual personal injury litigation.  That s expensive litigation so you must do well if you limit your practice to that.

. @NCiggles is a litigator on the plaintiff side of the bar and sometimes we get a little nerdy on legal matters.  @austinfan is a lawyer as well although I tend to think of him more as an economist.

Over/under on when the QB controversy begins to bench Hurts for him?

Called it yesterday after Jacboy and Tyrod were signed elsewhere.

It's being reported the Giants are making a very strong push to sign Kenny Golladay.

That makes the least possible sense so it's likely

Current dead money leaders as more cuts roll in 1. Lions- $40.3M
2. Eagles- $39.9M
3. Rams- $36.8M
4. Saints- $24.5M
5. Panthers- $22.9M
6. Titans- $20.4M
7. Jets- $16.3M
8. Raiders- $15.8M
9. Falcons- $14M
10. WFT- $13.5M

One of my favorite linebackers since his college days.  Good for the Panthers.  They know linebackers so of course they would sign a good one.

Their gm runs circles around howie. Embarrassing.

Steve Keim has been the GM since 2013.

Had a nice start, 10-6, 11-5, 13-3, even won a PO game against GB before getting blown out in the CF Finals by Carolina 49-15

Since then, 7-8, 8-8, 3-13, 5-10-1, 8-8.  Fired Arians, now on his 3rd HC.

The team that Keim took over had Fitzgerald (29), Roberts (24), M Floyd (23), Housler TE (24), Kelemente G (22), Massie RT (23), Campbell DE (26), D Williams DT (25), D Washington LB (25), Acho LB (24), Peterson CB (22), Gay CB (27) - not exactly devoid of talent, with three pro bowl starters.

2013 draft:  #7 Cooper G (derailed by injuries), #45 Minter LB, #69 Mathieu S, #103 (all pro 3), Okafor DE

2014 draft:  #27 Bucannon S, #52 Niklas TE (whiff), #84 K Martin DE

2015 draft:  #23 DJ Humphries T, #58 Golden DE, #86 D Johnson (all pro, then broke down), #116 Gunter DT

2016 draft:  #29 Nkemdiche DT, #92 B Williams CB

2017 draft:  #13 Reddick LB, #36 Baker S (all pro 2, pro bowl 3), #98 C Williams WR

2018 draft:  #10 Rosen QB (whiff), #47 Kirk WR, #97 Cole C

2019 draft:  #1 Murray QB, #33 Murphy CB, #62 Isabella WR, #65 Allen DE, #103 Butler WR [now an Eagle]

2020 draft:  #8 Simmons LB, #73 Jones T

Basically had two good picks in 8 years plus Murray at #1, Johnson was a one year wonder, the rest journeymen starters or worse

Yikes...well anytime we see super low numbers we always question who's doing the timing in favor of them so maybe they just had bad stopwatch guys....however those verticals, shuttles and broads are piss poor too so they must have just actually tested horribly.

Arian’s retired , wasn’t fired , cost Bucs a draft pick to hire him

I'm a regulatory lawyer but I was a litigation economist for 5 years before I went to law school. That was fun, no moral qualms about helping one corporation stick it to another.

Can Barnett be traded now or are we stuck with him?

Thanks and that sounds like a really interesting career (at least to an IP nerd like me).  And you're right about how difficult some of this stuff can be to those who don't devote their practice to it.  My favorite kind of case is where I'm going against a commercial litigator who thinks anyone can handle a Lanham Act case.  The best IP litigators (of which I am not one) are the people best able to explain these concepts in ways that a jury will appreciate.

His salary is fully guaranteed as of 4 PM. So you are stuck with him unless you want to take a $10 million dollar cap hit.

Actually according to ESP (I know) you can trade him still. Not sure how/why but apparently it's possible.

I don't really see that happening though.

It's only base salary. They can trade him.

1 year, $8 million per Schefter. Definitely a "prove it" deal.
