I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I take giants over wft

The Giants should have a much improved defense but Daniel Jones did not look better in his 2nd season.  He was sacked a bunch and was bad on turnovers.  I don't think that's terribly promising for them.  Golladay should help but it's not like Golladay is an explosive threat as a receiver.  He also had hip and hamstring injuries last season that could impact him this season.  Sure getting Barkley back will help but I don't think he makes them a playoff team on his own.

Washington has the better roster in terms of skill positions on offense and a good veteran in Fitzpatrick.

Way better than the "nice melons" line

:offtopic:

Was thinking about a movie I watched many years ago but couldn’t remember the name.  I only had a recollection of Rod Steiger being in it.  Took me about 30 minutes of online searching to find it — Back From Eternity (1956), with Robert Ryan and Anita Eckberg — who was Miss Sweden.

It’s about a plane that crashes in the South American jungle with 11 diverse people aboard, and they’re surrounded by a head-hunting native tribe who play a ritual drum beat.  Without giving away too much, suffice to say only a few of them are going to be able to make it out alive.  It was made before Flight Of The Phoenix, but a similar theme.

I highly recommend it — quite suspenseful with an excellent ending.

Thanks for the tip. Sort of related, I recommend Sands of the Kalahari, (1965) with a good cast and a great ending.

You should definitely do that.  Lots of great scenery and culture in addition to the food.  Hit me up for recommendations if you decide to go.

Trust me, I know.  I have been all over New Mexico but mostly Roswell, Sante Fe and Albuquerque area in the last decade.   Loved camping in the Pecos Wilderness Area in my twenties. Loved Taos Plaza in my youth. That whole Cimarron area. San Juans up into CO.  Bats at Carlsbad at dusk.  Love to get to White Sands again now that it is a National Park. Great state and so many people are oblivious to the natural beauty of the place.

Is it just some sort of parody account?

I've been married for 38 years (March 26th) I wish there was such a thing as a dating app when I was young (perfectly happy with my wife) just that it would save a lot of awkwardness like what you've described here.

I told my kids that the dating sights would have been great when I was young.  But wouldn’t trade that for the luck of meeting my wife.   38 for us as well.

If you are interested in Southern NM let me know.

Nothing makes a woman more comfortable than grabbing her by the neck.

The WTFs got better because they had a couple horrific injury years and drafted high.

Thanks.  Being retired, when I am traveling I just tend to go.

Good for Vinny.  Hope he got a good deal.

BOO!

Brown went crazy and his stats took a nosedive at the end of the 2010s

Fitz has been on a decline but he also played majority of the 2010s in his 30s

Jones had over 1k yds since 2014 except for last season but Falcons did only win 4 games

Megatron retired in 2015 but he was a beast in those 5 years of the 2010s

When I first met the woman I would marry she had a dog. I tried to make friends with the dog to get next to her. The dog paid no attention to me. 😒

the dog component is interesting. when i walk my wifes dog, around the hood. hot girls appear out of nowhere to stop and pet her. they fall out of trees, parachute in. That single dude should get a cute doggie. chixx mAgnNetTzzz

I split them, parboil them for 3-4 minutes in salted water, let them drain for 20 minutes, then sauté in a wok with avocado oil, sliced garlic, and soy sauce, maybe throw in a few hot pepper flakes. They crisp up nicely on the outside and tender inside. Don't mince the garlic - it will burn. Smash it or slice it and not too thinly.

Probably my favorite veggie these days.

On the pepper front, I love shishito peppers. Heat your Lodge on high, toss the peppers in a high-smoke oil - I love avocado oil for this - and distribute in a single layer in the cast iron and LET SIT. You want that char. After a few minutes, stir and keep cooking 8-10 minutes, then toss in a little lemon juice and salt and eat like popcorn.

If my wife ate the brussels, I'd likely look into more options, but she's anti-brussels.

Getting a dog is definitely the way to go if you're single. I would probably get one if my allergies didn't go crazy around them. One trip to the dog park and you could probably get 3-4 phone numbers from girls.

However, the girls that I have gone out on dates with who do have dogs are kind of a pain to schedule stuff with. Everything they do revolves around the dog so their schedules are always messed up and a lot of them aren't comfortable leaving them alone.

Been married for 20 years this past October.  No dating app.  No awkwardness.   Met my wife on a church youth retreat.  Started with 'group dates', just hanging out with a big group, and then moved to one on one dating.

I could respect the efficiency of a dating app.  Easy, humiliation-free method of sorting through people who have the specs you want and who are interested in you.  Sort of reduces dating to the NFL combine.

Sure, people can misrepresent themselves, but it seems that people churn and burn these first dates and self-sort pretty quickly.

I'm married 4 years, but I never really got into the dating game before that, never was that good at it...I pretty much just crapped where I ate for my entire 20's, pros and cons to that.
