What is even being shown in these screen shots?

My "false" numbers of Hurts wetting the bed when trailing towards the end of a game. 8.6 QB rating.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Pan to the left.  You're showing columns but not what the rows represent.

I look at it this way on next year. I want hurts to  be good. Heck great. Id be happy for just good. However he needs to either be good or bad. It does nothing for the Eagles if he’s just average out there. That’s going to get them stuck in purgatory. Even with three first round picks that doesn’t assure you if hurt is just average that you can move up from where you’re picking to get one of those quarterbacks in the next draft. So it likely would be a play for Wilson or watson (watson has a ntc so you are gonna have to convince him to come here and we have no clue what his future holds with this mess. As for Wilson that’s another story).

You might be in a similar position as this year where you wanted Zach Wilson but couldn’t move up to get him because another team slotted in a high position also loved him and made it impossible. Add on I don’t think the Dolphins are going to be as bad as people on here think. I think they are a 7 to 9 win team so that’s likely pick between 12 and 20. And the Colts you are likely getting a late first round pick or you’re getting a second round pick because if Carson Wentz stinks they arent going to allow him to play 75% of the snaps. They will just bench him so they can retain their first round pick.

I’m actually fine with giving Hurts a chance in 2021.  I’m just afraid of the purgatory our offense could enter if he beats expectations, is OK, and we commit to him with a mobile qb dink and dunk offense.

Thats an absolute disaster.

If he’s going to be Russel Wilson or Drew Brees, great.  Wonderful.  I don’t expect it, but I’ll eat that crow all day long.

But if he has a mediocre year and we enter that circle jerk about how he did so much with so little and don’t constantly have an eye on an upgrade/competition, we are going to be in a world of pain moving forward.

Okay so that's Hurts, what would be the same breakdown then for Allen for just his first 4 starts.

Except you ignore the fact there was a report they wanted to trade up for zack Wilson. You can say it was definitively a false report but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t as someone asked rapoport to take the tweet down. I’m guessing it’s likely someone rapoport is close with inside the eagles organization. So if they could’ve gotten Wilson that statement about seeing what hurts looks like wouldn’t be true. I think it’s true now because they weren’t able to acquire the QB I’m this draft that they loved

also believe what you want caplan and mosher both say they have multiple sources stating the eagles didn’t draft hurts to be a starter here. Frankly i find that to be not true but they keep stating it every week.

I wouldn’t read too much into a lot of that stuff.  It’s perfectly "normal” if the Eagles were really high on Zach Wilson for them to put "feelers” out, IMO.    Obviously the price was way too high for them to realistically trade up to get him so they likely never "seriously” pursued it.

No one has named Hurts the franchise QB (yet) and neither have the Eagles.  I actually like the fact that Hurts will (likely) need to "earn it” vs it being handed to him on a silver platter (like it was for Wentz).  There’s a difference in being named the "likely starter” vs being named the "franchise QB” from day 1.  Hurts is the "likely starter” at this point vs the "franchise QB” and I’m fine with that. (And if I were to bet, so is Hurts)

I’d disagree with the assertion they likely didn’t pursuit it aggressively if they were going after Wilson and they loved him. That’s their MO if they love a QB that they will do whatever they can in their power to try and get up or select the guy they want. They did it with wentz and the hurts selection. They made multiple trades to get up to get wentz. They took hurts who caplan and mosher stated they might not even had a 2nd round grade on and didn’t want to lose him like they potentially did with Russell Wilson (last part came from their most recent podcast). So if they really want and love a QB they aren’t going to just casually go into it. They are going to try their best to make it happen. I think they realized the Jets were gonna take him so there was no value in moving up to 3 so they decided to move back to going with hurts

also how many times do you see a tweet from a national reporter deleted? Not very often. Kind of feels like somebody did not want that information being leaked out.

Either that or they really did not "aggressively pursue him”.  If the Eagles "aggressively pursue” anyone it’s (usually) all over the media, reported by multiple sources and that wasn’t the case with the Zach Wilson rumors.

If the Eagles did not have Hurts, then they likely would have went after Wilson more aggressively, imo. The fact that they have Hurts leads me to believe that it was more along the lines of, "Wilson looks like he has a lot of potential, let’s see what it would take to move up”.

"That price is way too high, especially since we already have Hurts.  Let’s trade down and get Hurts weapons instead”

Went from the bengals’ dysfunction to Snyder’s dysfunction.

The fact that they were going after Wilson with hurts on the roster should tell you something. I don’t think acquiring Wilson had much to do with well we have Jalen Hurts so let’s not overpay. What probably happened was the Jets were locked into Wilson at two so it was never going to materialize to acquire the pick to draft him. Now they tried to trade up the three hoping that Wilson would fall but I’m betting they probably got info the Jets were likely take him at 2. so they weren’t going to pay that price knowing that info. So if the Jets are going to select him at two and they just aren’t willing to move that pick regardless of how much the eagles probably tried there’s nothing you can do or offer that they’re going to make that trade. If the Jets were willing to trade out of two i am willing To bet the Eagles make that trade. I do not believe Jalen Hurts prevented them from making that splash move even if they overpaid. Seems more like the Jets prevented it by loving and wanting Wilson.

So they never "seriously" went after him.

Actually WFT is on the rise. They have a very good young Defense. Few offensive weapons and they could be very good.

to me I think they’re trying to set themselves up for next year to go after Russell Wilson or Deshaun Watson.

I seriously doubt it, I can't see Lurie being comfortable with Watson, period.

And the only way they go after Wilson would be in 2023 on a "old Peyton" type deal, they're not going to break the bank for his declining years.

So if the Eagles for weeks tried to set up a trade for the 3rd pick thinking he could fall at one point in time. Then found out he wouldn’t fall to 3 and then moved to the Jets to trade with them for the number two pick and the Jets said no every time that means they didn’t seriously try to acquire that pick? Yup clearly that would mean they weren’t serious. Just cause the Jets never seriously considered not selecting Wilson doesn’t mean the eagles weren’t seriously trying convince them or find a way to get Wilson until they realize it wasn’t gonna happen.

We don’t know what’s gonna happen with Watson. At this point in time I don’t think they would make that trade. However that doesn’t mean next year if all this clears up that Lurie wouldn’t jump in. He also signed Michael Vick coming out of prison for killing dogs and lying about it. This isn’t like he doesn’t allow players to have second chances. Especially if these turn out to be false when the police investigate the current one that was reported and if the rest turnout to be false. If it turns out to be true yeah i don’t see lurie making that move however watson is likely in prison if that turns out to be true since one has been reported to the police and being investigated.

Weird, couldn’t be because of his first read wasn’t there, he just took off running, could it?

52% completion percentage with the most time to throw in the league is concerning also.

Lower completion percentage combined with the highest average depth of target in the league makes sense.

Hurts is a good but not great athlete. This isn't complicated.

You and your revisionist history.  Wentz earned it.  Was better than Bradford in OTA's, better in camp until he broke his wrist and definitely earned it with his play his rookie season.

Hurts: let's all hope he improves.  If he does all it is is good news.   If he doesn't, it's not terrible news.

He wasn't some overly conservative Tyrod Taylor QB that some have tried to compare him to.  He wisely threw the ball away a lot but also attempted a higher degree of difficulty throws down the field as well.  No rookie is a finished product.  If he only completes 52% of his passes again this season then yeah he would not be the answer going forward and the Eagles will be in proper position to do so.  But it would only be natural for his completion percentage to improve in his second season.

If he sucks then the good news is the team is likely picking in the top 10 again

If he's great then we can use the picks to finally build around the QB
