Thoughts on the possibility that Howie and Co are looking at the four WRs brought in last year (Reagor, Fulgham, Watkins, and Hightower) and deciding to let them be evaluated by the new coaches in the new scheme and defer on making a significant investment at the position until next year.

Then Howie is trying to be smarter than everyone else.  Too good of a deep slot WR draft not to grab one. Unless Sirianni thinks he can do something with JJAW, if an X is available, grab one.  Watkins and Reagor to man the Z.  Fulgham is probably a back up, not a starter. He and Ward can fight for the fourth WR spot.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I'm very open to Horn in RD1, Moore in RD2. Drafting athletic Ole Miss WRs has gone well

Another late round sleeper. RB Jaret Patterson. 5’8 200lbs.

Kinda reminds me of Darren Sproles with his speed power balance and just the way he looks while running lol. Wish he caught more out of the backfield but can do it. He’s explosive patient and despite being a small guy he powers though contact.

Issue is obviously his size and more of a change of pace guy (like Sproles) not a everydown back. He played in the MAC and dominated but can he translate to the NFL?

He’s a day 3 guy who might surprise.

Tested poorly 30 inch vert , sub 10 ft broad jump

4.54 at 5 ft 6 196 is not good

We have Scott, we need a power back, not another smurf.

I wonder what the philosophy will be at WR. Going with a smaller group like Jackson/Maclin 10 years ago? Seeking a traditional, bigger X? Or are they as flexible as Sirianni keeps preaching?

Because there's a heck of a difference between having your big WR be Kadarius Toney vs. Terrace Marshall.

Yep. I am the president of the Kadarius Toney founders club, and yet Id be so extremely disappointed if he was our 1st round pick. I know you can make him a volume guy and our #1 can technically be our slot. But when choosing between Toney who is a slot guy, or a potential starting X like Marshall, or even Bateman, Im going for the X every time. Its so much easier to find a slot.

Even in this same draft theres other good slot guys to be had. Darden presents a great value later on compared to Toney in round 1. But theres so  many more options too.

At some point pretty early in the draft your potential starting X's are all gone.

If the pick is a WR, Marshall is the guy for me.

Trey Smith vs Slater

6 foot 5  321 pounds  vs 6 foot 4 304

5.11 vs 4.88 40

33 5/8 vs 33 inch arm

7.43 vs 7.48 3 cone

32 reps vs 33 reps

Adding Sam Cosmi to this list

Sam Cosmi 4.84 second 40-yard dash and did 36 repetitions on the bench press. He also had a 1.68 second 10-yard split, 9-feet, 9-inch broad jump, 7.35 second 3-cone drill and a 4.39 second 20-yard split.

Boston Scott dictates 0% of my draft decisions. He may not make the roster in September.

Can he please take Mike Scott with him?

Both Ryan and Garappolo are going to be making a lot of money even if their teams go QB lol

I think you need to play both , and teams do , you play Brees different than you would Mahomes , and it depends on the offensive talent/weapons

I was shocked to see that Bowles had Bucs in zone 78 % of time this past season  , they have big fast physical corners .

if you’re athletic , can run and have good instincts , you can play zone or man

My friends that hunt ferals in Texas use 30.06.  My father in law’s best friend traps them. Smokes the hams and barbecues them. The hogs taste like crap because of the hormone release when you shoot them but the sows are good.  Like the smaller (sucklings) for a whole pig BBQ.  He crisps up the skin with a great rub. Yum.  Feral doesn’t taste like store bought pork. But the only good feral is a dead feral. They are so destructive to crops and natives.

I've heard similar things, and that's why farmers/homesteaders always shoot and then immediately bleed out the pigs when harvesting.    It makes sense.

From what I've heard from some homesteaders, a 'pasture-raised' pig has far more positive health benefits when consuming than the 'traditional' raised pig.  I wonder if the ferals offer any of those benefits... and I wonder if the pigs can be bled more rapidly how much of the off-flavor would still happen in the meat.

Ryan is going to have his contract restructured again in 2022. No way he accounts for 48 mil against the cap. His dead money is 40.4

I'm pretty ignorant about the draft but in my limited view the first five guys are gold. After that my ignorance kicks in.

Just want to see if this still works...

I'd like to get one of: Chase, Pitts, Smith, Waddle, Surtain, or Horn.

That's six guys.  So we need six other guys to be selected before #12 for one of the aforementioned targets to be available.

Four QBs are certain.  Then all you need is two from: a fifth QB, Sewell, Parsons, and Slater.  Correct?

That might well be Howie’s position; I’d push back if I were Sirianni.  Watkins and Hightower were late-round picks and I’m not sure either are suitable for a starting role.

They need to get a full evaluation on Hurts this season so my bet is we will see a WR drafted by pick #70

Yup.  Starting to read a lot of "Parsons to the Giants” talk at #11 as well

That would be great.  That will make 2 ultra athletic PSU players with limited ability to dominate in the NFL due to position that they have over drafted.

Not that I’m a Parson’s fan , but why is that over drafting his position?

Yep. Also, teams can force you to play some man just by formation, such as with trips. You can zone up the trips side but you have to play man on the other.  Etc. It may be crude to say, but zone requires smarter guys, man requires better athletes. As you say in your last line, if you have all those qualities you can do both.

Sean Lee and Luke Kuechly prove otherwise.
