I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Peyton Manning in 1998 is the last time a team grabbed a top 1-2 overall pick on a QB and parlayed it into a Super Bowl.

2016 Eagles selected Carson Wentz #2.
2017 Eagles win the Super Bowl.

Hard to take fans seriously when they make statements like that.  Forgetting you own team doing that and winning a Super Bowl, WOW.

Don't feel bad, neither can they.

My hope is we can trade Ertz, 37 and 70 to Jacksonville for 33 and 65 before the draft.  That's equivalent to 75 draft points which is equivalent to top 5 pick in the 4th round.  I think this is great value because teams will pony up a lot more to try and get the 1st pick in the 2nd round to get the player they want most.

Thoughts?

Because people like to watch the broadcast and see it live.  Why can’t those just wait for it to be announced on TV?  Why is it a "thing” to have to be the first to announce it?

It's not live if they announce it after the pick has been made.

It's a thing because a lot of people don't want to know ahead of time.  It's totally fine if you do.  The problem is when people make that decision for others by posting it ahead of time.  If people want to know ahead of time, that's great, go for it.  Just keep it to yourself.

If you don't want to know ahead of time and people do why don't you just not log in?

What do you have going down at 4?  I think that is when the draft really goes off the rail of expectations.  Potentially even the 49ers at 3.

Correct!

It's really a non-issue. I haven't seen a pick spoiled here in years.

Yikes.

I don't think he should be on the Eagles' board at all given their history.

Because people want to discuss the licks and the draft.  Why is it so hard for people like you to not spoil?

How is finding out who the player selected and then relaying it 2 minutes earlier a "spoil"?  You wait a million years between each picks with all the fluff.  I don't understand why you would not want to know the pick right away.  You will have plenty of time to discuss, it's not like there isn't 7 minutes between picks.

do no want AVT out of round 1

and are we pre-emptively banning HE for tipping picks?

If it is on twitter and no one else has, I will post the picks.  Why does it matter??  Do you have to hear the commissioner say it to believe it ??  The sooner we know the sooner we can discuss firing Howie.

Simple, make two threads. One for people who want to follow along and discuss the broadcast, another for the folks who don't mind getting the info early.

Sorry — my original post was teams starting a rebuild; did not include teams trading up as the Eagles did in 2017.

Why don't you start a "pick spoiler thread" and I'll log in there and every time you post a pick I will give you a like.

This draft is so anti-climatic for me.  A new approach?  A new eye on adding talent?   Nope... just the same folks that have screwed up for the last few years.   But, this time they will get it right.  This time they will go by the board the scouts have built.  This time will be different.

Well, this time, I'm not falling for it.

This is me.  I will watch, but I am not nearly as amped for it as I normally would be. Mainly because I have seen this movie before, soo many times. I know how it ends.

Spoiler alert- it ends poorly with a serious let down.

I think that thread should be run by someone who spoils picks. I never post the names. And Im not a big twitter guy. Theres definitely people who can get it quicker than me.

This would be a pretty decent draft.

I'd be surprised if they draft someone with an injury history. The team has been burned by injuries for years

I'll be surprised if THEY DONT DRAFT at least one player with an injury issue, Howie will once again state" "he was a really good value at that pick, we felt very comfortable taking him there, you are talking about a guy who was a (insert round before he was taken) rd talent pick"

Remember.  No one, and I mean no one, comes into our thread and spoils picks.  This is your draft now gentlemen.

People complain about the NFCE getting all the prime-time games, but the fan bases are the most passionate, and largest, in the NFL.

It just hits different from Goodells lips to my ears

(no i'm not being serious)

I'm going to spoil picks.

Pick #1 Trevor Lawrence.

Suck it.

I think it's rude to spoil picks 🤷‍♂️

Use the spoil feature ffs. You get to be the first to post about it and people get to see it first on their tv instead. win-win
