What's the earliest you would feel comfortable taking Farley? For me it's the first 3rd rounder.

I’m ok with him in rd. 3. It’s not like whoever else they pick would have any better chance of becoming successful, most likely.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Simple, make two threads. One for people who want to follow along and discuss the broadcast, another for the folks who don't mind getting the info early.

Here's how it goes every time.  Someone posts a reaction to a pick like: double Fed by Lurie and Howie again.  Then someone else ****es about not getting the pick ruined.  Of course, it's already ruined because they know they're going to be pissed about it.  ****ing and moaning commences - except for Afan.

Use the spoil feature ffs. You get to be the first to post about it and people get to see it first on their tv instead. win-win

I don't understand why you have to see it on TV.  Who goes fully social media dark during the draft ??  There is so much going on and the networks do not address it appropriately.

And, Jets take Zach Wilson.

If it is on twitter and no one else has, I will post the picks.  Why does it matter??  Do you have to hear the commissioner say it to believe it ??  The sooner we know the sooner we can discuss firing Howie.

Why do I have to wait to hear the pick to discuss firing Howie?   Aren't the last 3 drafts enough fodder for that?

Atlanta would be stupid to not take a QB.  Lance would be a perfect fit - let him develop while Ryan finishes out his deal.

Afan already loves all our picks.

My issue with spoiling the pick is the possibility of an incorrect post distracting the conversation.

It's more concerning for me on day 1 and 2.  I don't care about spoilers on Saturday.

With stories surfacing about the Falcons moving on from Julio Jones in the near term, Pitts makes sense for them.  I still think they’d be better off taking Parsons.

Meh, I think they trade out. They are pretty much tied to Ryan for at least two years. They would be wasting half the window of having a QB on a rookie deal.

I can't see a LB having a 4th pick of the draft value unless the player is the 2nd coming of Lawrence Taylor. Parsons is good, but I don't see him as that.

How important is this discussion that it can't be distracted for 1 minute until the correct pick comes?

And that has happened like 0 times ever.

Yeah but if they like Lance or Jones, they have a prime shot to get their next franchise QB for free basically.   Otherwise they're paying the price to trade up either next year or 2023.

2023 they could technically move on from Ryan if they wanted.  They'd take a $15 million hit but save $28 million....and that'll be with a higher cap.

People complain about the NFCE getting all the prime-time games, but the fan bases are the most passionate, and largest, in the NFL.

Duh.  The people who complain about it don't have loud enough voices for it to matter.   I discussed this as to why the Eagles got flexed to the SNF game.   That game was going to have impact for the WFT and the winner of the NYG/DAL game.   If the Eagles played WFT at 1PM, then the DAL/NYG loses any and all meaning once the WFT wins.   By going with the order they did, they were guaranteed to have a team in a 'must win to get in' situation, and a team/fanbase that could get in if WFT lost.   It was a no-brainer.

The highest valued teams in the WORLD:   Dallas is the #1, Giants are #9 (3rd highest in NFL), WFT is #14 (7th in NFL), and Eagles are #23 (10th).

All 4 are the top 10 most valuable NFL franchises.   Only the AFC East (Patriots - #2, Jets - 8th) and NFC West (Rams - 4th, 49ers - 5th) have even 2.

Its not even a comparison.   AND... NFC teams would be more represented than AFC teams... because there's 7 teams in the top 10 in the NFC, and only 3 in the AFC.   The biggest markets are in the NFC.  The AFC's big markets are Boston, Houston, NY (but have the weaker draw in NY with the Jets), and LA (Chargers are technically in LA... but they got a tiny little soccer stadium when they moved, because they aren't the draw of the Rams... for whatever reason).     In the NFC you have NY, LA, Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, Detroit, SF, Dallas-FTW, Atlanta.... it's no contest.

Unless you are talking about an Eagles' pick... then we all lose.

Could Howie have a draft that warrants him keeping his job?

I like to see it on TV and then go discuss online.

Now get off my lawn!

Yes, the networks don't do it justice...   But I still live in the 1980s... maybe the 1990s.  Let me have my delusions.

Lurie already said in a presser this year that he gives credit to Howie when other teams draft players that Howie likes. So, Howie will get points when Jax drafts Lawrence, even though it has nothing to do with the Eagles. Lurie is delusional when it comes to Howie. Howie has a ticket to ride.

How did I forget Kenny Yeboah was in this draft.  It seems every time you put on an Ole Miss game he was making plays.  I would be thrilled with him.

6 minutes ago, NCiggles said:

Nope.   Because his draft failures are only one leg of the stool.    His free agent moves have sucked.   His trades for players have sucked.  His contract negotiations put us into a giant hole where, for example, the Eagles have a bigger cap charge for Desean while he's off the team in 2021 than the team that decided to overpay him this year.  Crazy.   And we'll still be on the hook for dead money for Alshon Jeffery even though his last real contribution to this team came in 2018... right before he let the ball go right between his hands on a first down conversion in the playoffs.  Since that moment, he's been a wasted roster spot... but that's when they decided to draft his replacement... AND restructure his contract to lock themselves into keeping him.       ZERO coherence from this group.   And he literally has no leg left to stand on.  All 4 are missing.

On top of that LB fit atlanta wasn’t nearly as bad as their secondary. Deion jones is good. Mykell walker for a rookie was actually very good. He was named to pff all rookie team and 90 grade in coverage.

Also, I like JOK and Collins better in terms of all around play and you can get those guys around 20.  Even Parsons can be had in a trade down from 4. I think the earliest he could go would be 7 and even that is too high for a LB in this draft.
