I'm not sure the organization shares any info with him or why they would.

He still is friends with Lurie.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I'm friends with people as well. It doesn't mean I share any inside info on what goes on in my company. Boils down to you trust him and I don't. Been that way for a while we'll just agree to disagree.

I don't really understand this argument in the NFL.

Owners aren't going to buy you better players, they don't pay a luxury tax to go over the cap, they pay for coaches/staff/scouts and I would guess facilities. You can offer a lot of money to a coach but they still have to choose to come here.

Not a blast on you I see this a lot and I never understand why. Baseball and basketball, sure, owners' spending matters in terms of success. Football, I don't see it. I'm sure someone here could explain it but owner spending I would assume matters more at a fan level. Are they willing to upgrade the stadium, provide a good fan experience etc. Can't see why it would matter to a prospective HC.

I don't know that spending is that different but there are certainly teams that actively sign free agents and what teams spend in terms of cash every year. There's contract issues like the one Bosa faced in San Diego when he was drafted where they wanted offset language and to split his bonus in the rookie contract.   Spanos has a reputation of being cheap.  https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/the-chargers-are-cheap-and-manipulative-and-joey-bosa-is-paying-for-it The bigger difference is in things like facilities, staffing, amenities for the staff, players, the willingness to spend on assistants.  There's a big difference between Lurie and owners like Spanos on a lot of those things.  It's one reason that team has had limited success.

Here's another hot take. Howie already knows all the moves he has to make to get back under the cap and have room to get a player or two if he wants.

What's sad is I would take the Cowboys top 4 WR over any of ours right now.

True that

The 17th game could also affect the cap too.

Having seen bits of Panthers games this season. Bridgwater looked like an average QB and Mike Davis did a nice job at RB1.  The end results weren't there, but they looked like a team that didn't suffer from not knowing how to fit their players into what they do.

Asking Kellen Moore for an interview is a nice troll too

I really thought the Cowboys were going to name him HC last year. With most teams seeking that McVay type of hire, Moore has seemed to do fairly well. Of course I think this year was hard to judge because that's McCarthys offense now.

Which is weird because Jerry supposedly talked Moore out of taking the Boise St HC gig, I don't know why Moore would want to return under McCarthy unless JJ plans to can McCarthy after another bad season and promote Moore.

Or if Doug was let go because he was reluctant to bring in outside voices then why would Lurie hire Duce as HC?

That tells me Lurie isn't looking at Duece that way.

Bienemy is the guy.

I think Daboll is Eagles first choice. However they are forced to wait and by waiting a few other candidates will be taken off the boards. If Daboll takes another job I think Eric will be the left over choice. Kind of exactly what happened in 2016. I really think the Eagles were waiting hoping that either John Harbaugh or Chuck Pagano were going to get fired. once they were not the Eagles were late to the game and missed out on all the other candidates they wanted and were left with Doug. Funny part is it all worked out taking the yes man. Cause the FO was able to get in Frank and Jim which helped land us the SB.

Pff Anthony seems to know what he’s talking about

Another one I SMH at is Doug Peterson........

FWIW, he has Miami taking Smith at 3 now, Bengals taking Sewell at 5, and us taking Chase at 6.

You got a problem with my spelling?

LOL If spelling DUCE wrong sets you off, I'll bet you are a joy to live with.

Its not really rocket science picking for the Eagles at 6. At that point you know it will be either of the WRs(Smith/Chase) or CB Surtain. Nothing else would make sense that will be available at 6 unless something crazy happens and Sewell slips which I dont see any chance of happening. The only situation that will break the certainty of one of them players being an Eagle will be if the FO move back.

Probably, the question is whether the players that have to restructure to make it happen will do it.

This is where it gets interesting with Ertz, I know he pissed off a lot of fans but Goedert needed to have a great 2020 season in order for me to want to move on from Ertz. If we hire an offensive minded HC, I can see them wanting to keep Ertz......he is a mis-match. Problem is he wants to be paid elite money but he just crapped the bed in 2020.

I'm sure this is JIm Schwartz' fault somehow.

Nah Wentz's fault

Ah yeah of course. Wentz first, then Doug's fault for somehow making Howie draft the guy, then Jimbo.

"Well, he was a comp 3 so that’s basically like a seventh-round pick so not a big deal.”
