On this point, Lurie has never hired a HC with previous NFL HC experience, 1 college HC and the rest were NFL position and coordinator coaches.

Absolutely correct, he takes too much abuse for having an opinion. I respect him for always having a thought out response, even when I completely disagree, which is the whole point. I find the people who take the most swipes at him are the ones who have the least to contribute.

If Arthur Smith had anything to do with bringing Tannehill to life, then he is definitely someone the Eagles want to talk to about reviving Wentz, maybe not as a hire.

If Howie and Jeff plan to build around Wentz, I wonder if they involve him at all with these guys to see if they will mesh. Maybe it's something that would happen on a 2nd interview, but I think if you're truly committing to the guy, at least let him have a voice (and by extension, possibly repair the alleged fractured relationship)

That would only be possible if the "brain trust" was sold on Wentz. Wentz may be allowed to provide some feedback at some point, but I think they are still trying to figure out what to do with Wentz. Of course there have been some hints in the past 48 hours for his future with the Eagles...not sure how credible they are...if the "brain trust" is smart they are still fact finding...

I mean what is really there to know from Smith. Its basically as simple as getting a rushing leader and arguably the best RB in the NFL.  Being a physical run first team and designing the passing game off playaction and RPO's.   Hit big on a second round pick receiver  and Voila Wentz is revived.....  Easier said than done with Howie still there ofcourse 🙂

I think Wentz is safe for at least one more year till the "out" year of his contract. They are going in the direction exactly what my suggestion was a month ago. Give Wentz one year under a new coach to see if he can get back somewhat the level he was in 2017. Not MVP, but star level. We all know Doug and his offense/coaching was a major issue and was holding back a lot of players success. If Wentz keeps struggling then you have your out next year and begin to move in a new direction at QB. To me its all about the coach they bring in and the scheme. But I think in the right situation Wentz can get back to a very successful level.

yeah, I think you missed the point. We know what he accomplished as an OC given the personnel...the Eagles would want to drill down their questions on the specific steps Smith took to refocus and develop Tannehill. Such information could be very valuable
