I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I think he’s one of the better candidates.  Better than Mayo or Kafka.

The only reason Lurie is even interviewing anyone else is the 90% probability McDaniels backs out after his choice of assistant coaches are hired

Are we sure he caught that?

Tom Brady threw it, therefore, he must have caught it.

I'm not talking X's and O's.  I am talking purely on the intangibles, but I also find the actual Xs and Os piece to be fairly lacking as well.   And as @greend pointed out... he was the mastermind behind Tim Tebow as a first round pick.

I’d also point out there was plenty of rumors where belichick wasn’t the only reason Brady left. He was also tired of mcdaniels.

Saints getting all the calls is helpful.

Watch then complain afterwards that they didn't

If you think Wentz can be 2017 Wentz again, you should want Josh McDaniels.

If you think there's a better than 50% chance they're going to keep Wentz and don't wanna sit through another 2020, you should want McDaniels.

That was part of the intangibles.   Doug, for all his faults, always had the players playing hard for him (with the possible exception of his QB resenting his garbage play calls).

Yeah. 10 years ago. JFC.  Guy has a ton of experience.  Coaches struggles as the main guy and the get another chance and it works.  Again, he’s a heck of lot more accomplished than most of the candidates.  And it’s not like he’s 60 years old, either.

Yep. Some people are just blinded by their hatred of all things Patriots.

He will certainly hold Wentz accountable and push him to be better.

There’s so many freakin commercials in football. So annoying

Yup.  It was 10 years ago.  And it was a terrible experience.  Some guys only get one shot.  McDaniels had his second shot with Detroit and walked out on it.

Has he accomplished more than most candidates?   Please name all the Patriots assistant coaches that went on to have success as head coaches in the NFL?   By my count I think the number is about zero.  So, I'd rather NOT have the Eagles be the next franchise to fall for that.   Sorry, McDaniels doesn't have a resume separate from Belichek, therefore to me, he has no accomplishments.

I could be sold a McDaniels HC and Mayo as DC pretty quick.

I'm constantly complaining about it in the game threads. It's ridiculous how many commercials they throw in

Nope.  Purely based on empirical evidence.  Name all the Patriot assistants that went on to success elsewhere.   Take your time.

Did folks see that punt return?  Caught at the 7, danced around and got the ball almost out to the 20.  Greg Ward let's that bounce and its downed at the 2.   Those are valuable yards.

Yeah he pissed off everyone in the Denver organization (players and front office) was another reason he got fired besides making bad personnel moves. Pissed off the entire colts organization by going through the whole interview process to then change his mind last minute after they sent press releases so they had to completely restart it in February. Pissed off tom Brady so he was part of the reason he left. Seems like a trend.

i couldn’t care less if he was coaching New England or Rams or cardinals. We are willing to bash bieniemy and Kafka cause they have mahomes and that’s why they have success. Meanwhile he has Brady the greatest QB to ever play and when he doesn’t he’s been bad like worst offense in the league and 5th worst.

Damn. Only 3 more games of football

If I’m interviewing McDaniels, obviously I’m asking him his version of what happened regarding the Colts as the last question — then If I’m Lurie I call Jim Irsay for his perception of what happened.

If McDaniels doesn’t come across as 100% honest in his answer, then he’d be out of consideration

We sure irsay is going to be sober on that call?

once again we dont have wrs who make that catch

Tyler Johnson showed those same hands at Minnesota.

Tyler Johnson better than Reagor

WIthout question.  However, if he checks out clean and honest boy he could be the kind of guy that gets Wentz to listen.  It's pretty exciting to think about.  Of course that's best case.

We have a WR that gets open deep, only to drop the ball when its perfectly placed in his hands.

Yeah, might want to call Ballard instead.
