No, I think our draft capital is imperative to getting things back on track.  We need young, cheap talent to come in and develop.  FR is a nice coach but he hasn't shown me enough to warrant trading for.  I'd much rather take a chance on a young up and comer and get far away from the AR/DP tree as possible.

I'm the very opposite....I don't think he's actually done a thing to earn it, but I have a bad feeling that Lurie will fold under the pressure to hire him, especially since he's a minority candidate.

I'm also excited! If anything, it allows us to trade Grichuk/Gurriel for pitching. Springer also solves the issue of lack of outfielders in pipeline. 2021-2023 Blue Jays baseball got more fun!

I think that's the problem with guys like Duce and Bieniemy.  People think just because they've been in a position for a while they've earned the right to be a HC.  The same people (in general, not accusing you) who give credit to Bieniemy for working with Mahomes are the same ones who tear down McDaniels because he was successful with Tom Brady.

 What has Duce done to show he can be a good head coach?  Can he hire a good staff?  Can he gameplan?  Can he manage a roster?  If you ask me, his RB rotations have been trash.

If people think Duce has earned it, why doesn't Jeff Stoutland deserve to be a head coach?  Hasn't he earned it?  He's developed far more players than Duce has.  I'm just trying to wrap my head around why Duce is so attractive to be a head coach.  I loved him as a player.  One of the only jerseys I actually own.  I just don't see him as this must have HC.  I'd rather see him control an offense first to see what his schemes are, how he adjusts and such.

The players love him (current and former), he’s been a hold over since Reid and was made Assistant HC. Wasn’t the blocked from interviewing elsewhere a year or two ago? He’s worked his way up the ranks and absolutely deserves consideration. I may be wrong, but he’s who I’m putting my in in the ring for.

 

that said, there a few coaches out there who I wouldn’t be upset about and McDaniels is one of them.
