It's pretty obvious that Siranni met the two overriding criteria for Lowie:

1) Lack of options so he will allow Lowie to keep meddling with the staff and roster just like Doug did.

2) Told them he could resurrect our broken QB and has ties to the coach (Reich) who last made Wentz look good.

Aside from these two things, nothing else matters.

And I assume this means that Carson will once again be anointed as the starting QB without any competition or accountability.  Hope it works better this time, but we've seen what that approach yields already and its not good.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Axe to grind reaction.  Name the m’fer Jeff or don’t bother.  Familiar with Sirianni’s credentials?   Heck that could be just about anyone in the blog.  I really dislike McLane and doubt the quality of his sources more and more each day.

Jeff McLane is the biggest hack in the Philly sports media. Sadly he realizes that most of his readers have an IQ of less than 100 and can't see how every article and tweet is an opportunity for him to forward a negative agenda he has against the organization.

My policy has always been simple. Wanna accuse someone of racism? Provide proof. Inequity in itself is not proof of racism. Though it is one of the core principles of critical race theory.

The Eagles interviewed minority candidates. All that can be done in this world is give equal opportunity. That opportunity was given. Can't hire or not hire someone solely based on skin color, and I don't think Lurie ever will, thankfully.

Not that simple. Your network has a strong influence on who hires you. Traditionally, black coaches couldn't even get the internships to get the assistant jobs to get the coordinator jobs to get the HC jobs. White coaches were hiring the guys they knew, who were mostly white guys. And income matters, a lot of guys can't afford the internships (in all fields) b/c they don't come from families or have wives with enough money to work for "Free."

Most coaches start in their 20s, former NFL players rarely go into coaching because it doesn't pay and requires long, long hours starting out, and if you're in your 30s with a family after a decade of long hours and separation, it's not always an attractive career path, especially if you've socked a few million away. And black college players who weren't good enough for the pros didn't have the connections to get onto the coaching carousel.

This is slowly changing, but it takes decades, and requires prodding and incentives to reach outside the good ole boy network.

None of these cowards want to put their name to their opinions.

He had the Reich guy on the team 😉 in 2017. He fell apart afterwards. Wonder why???

Clearly found out Haagen-dazs had more flavors then just vanilla and began studying all the flavors instead of installing gameplan.

It's not a real rebuild until Howie is gone

Well thank God he didn’t go to Basken Robbins cause they have like 32 flavors his head would have exploded

Yup. I loved how they used the sproles tape to break down. Frankly this was from a while back. I love the fact the colts used Hines in a lot of ways we have used sproles and sanders in 2019. I would also say i hope he has the eagles backs pass blocking as well as the colts backs did by the end of the year. It was a weakness of Scott and sanders. They regressed this year in that area

Sigh... Lurie is the one owner you can’t really play the race card with. It’s nonsense.

If it was a baskin Robbins with a Dunkin’ Donuts attached he might have found out about how good donuts are. Then it’s complete chaos

When you say "not that simple" what aspect of my post were you referring to specifically?

I think there's systemic racism in the NFL. However, not hiring Eric Bieniemy is not proof of racism.

Correct.  Lots of factors involved.  No one here knows how this guy interviews or what his strengths and weaknesses are.... he's been part of a franchise where the HC gets credit for the offense and they have tremendous players.

I think owners in the NFL want to win, period.

I think that in the past, fewer ex players and fewer minorities went into coaching.  Now there seems to be many more former players choosing to go into coaching, and many more minorities... and you are starting to see more get head coaching jobs.  People like Art Shell, Tony Dungy, Dennis Green, Mike Tomlin, Ron Rivera etc have had success... what owner doesn't want a Mike Tomlin?  Some haven't worked out (recent examples I can think of are Romeo crennel, Todd Bowles, Hue Jackson, Anthony Lynn although he wasn't terrible)...  in fact the winning % for minority coaches is probably higher relatively than non-minority coaches (just guessing).  Brian Flores has been very good.  Bottom line, it has been more a numbers game than anything else, and you will see more minority head coaches over time because there are more candidates working through the ranks.  More candidates overall means more great HC candidates will emerge over time.  But it takes time.  You can have a "Rooney rule" to help expand minority candidate exposure, but you aren't strong-arming any owner to hire a candidate based on their race or skin color.  Owners are going to hire the best candidates.

Yep. Tweets like that are garbage and only make things worse. This is the same organization that hired Ray Rhodes. This is the same organization that drafted McNabb 2nd overall. This is the same organization that gave convicted felon and black man the second chance that most organizations weren't willing to give, in Michael Vick. This is the organization that drafted Jalen Hurts in the 2nd round last year and benched their white franchise QB for him during the season. Yeah, tweet like this are race baiting garbage.

It’s really bull crap. Duce was assistant HC cause they didn’t want an OC or he turned it down cause of no play calling. Otherwise he’s likely OC and this argument goes out the window. I’m guessing there’s a bunch of teams that also have that in a bunch of different areas. Add on reid was coach for 14 years. So really the last 7 years they got the hot name in chip. I don’t even know the big name AA coach in 2016. This time the big name was bieniemy who basically had his agent say he didn’t want the interview with the eagles simply cause he thought mcdaniels was getting it so he had no shot. Goes to show you if you don’t take the interview and chance you’ll never know.

Well... don't blame the RB coach.

Still sprinkles of competency in there at times.

Duce had a presser and he sent they were. When you watch the all 22 they definitely were not nearly as good as in 2019. The eagles won’t say it i think it’s part of the reason howard was brought back. He is solid at pass pro

Duce apparently turned down the OC job, because it didn't include play calling.  So... who's fault is it?

I’m about 70 percent sure Duce will be named OC.
