6-6 240 is H-back size, and Butler and Jackson are H-backs. A blocking TE is more Goedert/Witten, 6'6 260 or so. A miniature OL with hands and average speed who uses their body to create separation.

I'll disagree here.  H-back size are your 6-2/6-4 230 pound guys a la Trey Burton.  6-6 240 at 20 years old is a tremendous base who could easily add 15 pounds.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

This makes the Hurts pick all the more infuriating if they're truly going all in on fixing Wentz.

Maybe we can trade Hurts for our Second back? Long shot though on someone giving a 2nd.

I'm just in the mindset that when we have SO many holes on the team, spending top dollar on a tight end is a luxury we can't afford.  In the next few years (based on Howie's draft record) we are going to have to spend some FA money on either CB1 or CB2 if not both, Safety, DE, LG/RG, C to name a few.

I'm a DG fan and I would hate to ship him off just to see him have success somewhere else but if he can bring back a 2nd and 4th while saving the Eagles upwards of $60 million, that's hard to say no to.  If the Eagles trade down in round 1 to say pick 14 and drafted Pitts, they are looking at a $16 million contract with a 5th year option.  Pitts also doesn't even turn 21 until October so you're getting 6 years younger at tight end.

Even if you don't want Pitts, I think DG is a tremendous asset to be dangled during the draft.

We can and will afford to keep Goedert.

As for spending money in FA, dont see it in the near future. With Luries PC he is understanding this will be a 2-3 year process to get this team back in order. that will be through the draft. i wouldnt expect many signings. Im one of the rare few that thinks this team will improve day 1 with someone of our players with a better scheme fit, game planning and play calling.

Witten could hardly be called 'a blocking TE'... dude is a HoF TE.   Sometimes, players are more than their measureables.

So, Jason Witten was 'a miniature OL with hands and average speed who used is body to create separation'.  You should write his induction speech.

I had you pegged as being too old to know what that is.

But wait someone on the board said he thinks we can get pick #8(panthers pick) straight up for Hurts. What you say has to be wrong :)

Don't disagree with you there.

McLane is a dbag. The next article he writes thats positive for the eagles would be his first. I don’t mind his sources and he’s not going to reveal who  his sources is. I understand as a journalist you’re never gonna give your sources because then you won’t get inside information that you’re trying to acquire. However every time he goes to his source it’s always negative.

I actually kind of like that Sirianni hasn't called plays before. Similar to Doug, it can be tough to get a read on a play-caller and his offense without any prior experience (think 2017). You can catch the league off guard for a bit. Of course, they will catch up.

That's the problem with Doug.  The offense was good at first.  Then teams studied and were prepared for it.  If you're DP you have to change things up, evolve your offense more, add some different things.  Not sure he did that.

But not Wayne?

I would trade any player on this roster (ignoring cap ramifications) besides Mailata for a first round pick.  I’d also trade anyone besides him for a second round pick.

I'd be happy to get the 4th back from the Avery trade!

No doubt about that. He needed to evolve, as any offense does.

I have no problem with them hiring someone who blows them away. I question the people deciding what criteria blows them away in the first place.

If(and I don't know if this is the case) but if it is the case that they prioritized getting a coach who can fix Wentz among other important things, then I think that process itself is flawed to begin with

no you are right, it would be better if they hired a HEad coach who was terrible at coaching qbs, who couldnt make qbs better.

yup we should have hired a guy who sucks.  lmfao

Just so Howie can screw up said first round pick?

Wentz is sort of the inverse of Hurts from a passing standpoint.  The only place Wentz can throw is to TEs in the the middle of the field; he has tunnel vision, never touches the sidelines, and usually botches throws in the flat.

The only throw Hurts can make is rolling out to a WR along the sideline.  He can’t or won’t test the middle of the field at all and is sort of a nightmare qb for 12 personnel.

Ill tell you one, not on that list whos been on my radar a while. If he likes pass catching running backs, Im a big Demetric Felton fan. And earlier it was said Siriani runs one of the most horizontal offenses ever. Felton is a UCLA RB playing Chip Kelly's offense which we know to be horizontal. He slides in here like a glove.

A draft pick Howie has already screwed up for one he will screw up.  I guess, by definition, that makes it an even trade.

Don't you know... Howie never screws up, he just picks too late in the round, and always just misses out on his target.  Shame he can't find more than one in a given draft.

Just saw the news. Well I liked what I read about Sirianni in the last couple days so I'm happy with the choice.
