Complete lack of awareness by the cornerback on that play. Unbelievable. The call by Pettine is probably even worse though.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

That was the thought I had when they showed the replay of Lazard being wide open, that if Wentz had done that there'd be at least a handful of posters here who would have had to say something over the top negative about it.  Wow, the great Rodgers missed a wide open WR for a TD.  It happens to every QB as we just saw.

nah wentz is the only qb who does that, cuz he suckszzzzz

Yeah seemed pretty dumb right there! I think King completely underestimated the speed of Miller.

King is pretty fast himself and was not even trying to go full speed. You can see King looking more at the QB/Inside of the field and not even paying attention to Miller till the ball was thrown. It was more of him being stupid because if he does his job playing that rec in his zone area Miller doesnt get open.

Mike Pettine is a bottom 5 DC. A lot of it was masked by the top 3 GB offense.

Green Bay has coached an awful game so far, especially on defense.

Aaron Rodgers just walked up to him and said "you're fired".

Yup that’s deflating for the packers. Might be goodnight with the fact tampa is going to bring the pressure second half and their oline is down it’s best lineman.

packers also should’ve had more than one safety back in the middle of the field knowing there was only 8 seconds left. It was likely a deep shot or quick pass to the sideline to pick up 4-5 yards

Cover 2 makes a lot more sense...

King did everything wrong. Bail technique, reached out for a WR who wasn’t there and lost speed, looked back and lost more speed. All while Miller cooked him.

We don't have a corner that could get that INT.

We don't have a QB that can make that throw.

We don't have a WR that can run by a corner like that.

I'm glad we are moving on from Doug, Jim, and the gang.  The Weasel survives though.

That’s really on pettine. King is a slower corner. He ran a 4.43 at the combine but if you watch him he has the same issues that douglas has with faster WRs. That 4.43 isn’t indicative of his game speed. There is no reason why you only have a single safety back on that play knowing that they’re either going to take a deep shot or it’s going to be a four or 5 yard route to get out of bounds to get themselves in better field-goal position.

It is such a mess!

You just indicted the talent acquisition, as much as you did the coaching staff, if not more so.

They called a coverage that would triple team the slot receiver with 9 seconds left at the 39. Whew.

It's both. King has to play as far back as possible there. Who cares if he catches the ball in front of you in that situation. King was clueless.

Quarters is the obvious call there you know its going in the endzone

If King was not being a dumb ass the play call would have been fine. He much faster then that and underestimated Miller in all areas of that play. He just figured Tom wasnt going to throw that pass and would be looking for a short/mid route to end with a FG. if King doesnt underestimate there I take King in that matchup all day one on one.

If Rodgers loses again then he's basically a more athletic Peyton Manning.  Great regular season player, OK post season.  Should have more SBs for how talented they are.

Yup. A lot of blame to go around, but it definitely starts with Pettine there. Even with a bad play call, you have to turn and run quicker.

Pettine is calling a defense that is generally good for that type of personnel and formation. The problem is it's the last play of the half and the offense is only using that formation to bait the defense into a coverage like that. Clueless situational football by Pettine and King.

Let him catch it, tackle him inbounds.  They didn't defend deep, they didn't defend the boundary to protect against a quick out to get closer for a FG attempt.   What did they defend?

Right, somehow The Weasel survives.  Make no mistake, talent acquisition and coaching have been lacking.

Don’t disagree. However Kevin King even though he ran a 4.43 at the combine does not play to that speed. He is a slower corner than what his combine numbers would suggest. He should’ve been playing back and off but petitine abolishes gone with a cover 2 like IGgle_phan said

Manning was often the worst player on the field in some playoff games, just had some awful performances and Rodgers never was that. Also, Manning had way better players around him. Guys like James, Harrison, Wayne, Garcon, Clark, etc. Those Colts teams were loaded. This is probably Rodgers' most talented team since their 2010 run, but in plenty of years they lacked RBs, WRs, TEs around him, and McCarthy is just a moron.

If King was playing smarter/better, its still a 50/50 ball 1 on 1.  That's not good for the defense in today's NFL.

Can't assume.  There was no boundary defense by GB either.   They were cooked no matter what.

He rushed four, and also left a linebacker and safety hanging out with nothing to do, like they were doubling Fournette or something. Terrible.

I haven't made any mistake.  I've been calling them all out since about Week 8.
