Regarding a head coach — The Eagles aren’t interested in doing this, but the best course would be to find a happy medium somewhere between the control freak Chip Kelly, who got Howie moved to the basement and proceeded to gut the roster as de facto GM, and Doug Pederson, who comes off as not having enough clout to even put up his hand in protest when Howie makes a dumb personnel move.

I wish we had a qualified head coach who made the proper in-game decisions and adjustments, while taking the attitude that the 53-man roster belongs to him coming out of camp, and tells Howie to pound sand if he tries to step into the on-field realm.

It seems quite apparent Lurie doesn’t want this.

That's not a source.   This is all based on McLane's "article".   He didn't cite any sources, didn't mention any names outside of Kelce and basically embellished anything that might have been there.   And then EVERYONE else is just picking up his 'story' and running with it.  None of this has been independently confirmed.  

 

As for Jalen and his complaints... 7 for 20 for 72 yards and 1 INT.   That is pretty not cool and f'd up.   Maybe he should look in the mirror a little bit.  He didn't earn the right to stay on the field.   Sure, Sudfeld was worse.  But, Jalen's 25 QB rating in that game, his sub-4 yard per attempt average would say that he wasn't going to put them into a better position to win than Sudfeld.  What did Hurts accomplish in quarter #3 exactly?  They were handed the ball in the red zone, and on 4th down when the time came, he couldn't complete the pass to a wide open Watkins.   Yes, off-balance and fading back.  But, an NFL QB has to be able to lob a ball 20 yards in that situation, in the red zone, to the wide open WR.  And it was right after that they benched him.   boo hoo.

 

So, tell me again where the sources are?

Those 10 yard outs are highly dependent on timing.  It's something they need to work on.  But I've also seen him thread the needle on a laser pass in the end-zone.  So that's that.

People really gloss over that fact in order to fit their own narrative.  Not only was Hurts 7-of-20 with an INT, but that end zone throw to Watkins was really terrible; an NFL QB has to be able to stand in there and make that throw when there’s a go-ahead TD at the end of it.

Doug needs to go and it has nothing to do with the last game. There is a lack of discipline in the locker room. Players should  be keeping this in house. Also, all the poor coaching decisions, use of personnel and down and distance playcalls, etc.  But, Howie needs to go, too. But, Lurie has already tipped his hand by having Doug and Howie doing that joint press conference. That means they are coming back.

Whoever's decision it was, whether Doug, Roseman, or Lurie, they've clearly lost the locker room and if they keep things as is there's no reason to think this gets solved in 2021.
