There is a NIGHT and DAY difference between players being confused, upset, or whatever... and talking to the coach (as Kelce is reported to have done, non-confrontationally) and defensive players needing to be restrained.  

 

I'm in no way defending Doug, Howie or anyone in the organization.   I'm pretty sure I've been clear that I want a clean sweep of the lot of them... but I can also see through BS put out by McLane that still has yet to be confirmed by anyone else.  If it was true, someone would be talking to someone else about it.  Let me know when that's been confirmed.   Until then, I still call BS on it.

Hurts didn't do enough against NO, AZ, and DAL to make it a question on what the course of action should be.

If it was solely Doug's decision, what he said was he wanted to give Suds some time after being there for 4 years.  Doug is loyal to players to a fault.  As a former backup QB he probably felt bad for Suds not getting snaps and just wanted to give him a shot.  He gave Hurts 3 quarters like a preseason game, get enough to evaluate then give the 3rd string a quarter.

I dump on Doug, but I take him at face value on the Sudfeld one.  The guy spent 4 seasons here and the coaching staff wanted him to get some tape out there to help him get a look from some other teams going into next season.  Sudfeld stunk — and that’s on Nate.

As for Hurts, I don’t think any more needs to be seen.  If it was a job interview and I watched Hurts skipping a rock across the water instead of hitting Watkins for a TD, I would have put my hand out and said "thank you for coming in; we’ll have a decision by the end of next week and let you know either way”

Yup. 

I appreciate everything that Ertz has done for this team, but if getting rid of him means getting rid of the 12 personnel packages and getting more receivers on the field, I'm for it. Goedert is athletic enough to be good in more 11 personnel style stuff. That has to be taken out of the offense. It's not the main reason why the offense has struggled the past two seasons, but they need a schematic change to help open things up more.

Doubtful.  For starters, no one wants to see their starting QB benched.  That's 100% normal and a totally acceptable reaction.  If there are players on the team that want their starting QB benched, what does that say about your starter?

I think it's a good thing the team wanted Hurts to stay in.  The media is making a mountain out of a molehill with all of this....and the sad thing is that the Philly media is getting influenced by the NY media.  Sure Philly media, let's bow down to NY and their media.  Smh.
