Just a guess here, but your bubble of friend and family is all fairly the same politically speaking.   I have a very large and diverse base of acquaintances/ Friends and relatives, even work colleagues. When the first weekend happened, my social media network lit up with calls of "I'm DONE with the NFL etc. Sirius NFL had tons of calls on the subject. If you live in a bubble, you were not aware of it, because the media was one sided on this.

And it's funny to me that you think that when fans cant go to the games and watch in person, that means that TV viewership will be down, I'd argue it should increase by about 800,000 fans a week who now HAVE TO WATCH IT ON TV.

Did you ever think they might be busy cryin in their Wheaties or even tryin to overthrow the government

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I’m guessing he doesn’t really care about the fans. Many of whom crapped on him and jumped on the hurts train after a game and a half. he likely feels he owes nothing to them. If i were a player Feankly wouldn’t give a flying F what fans think or believe they need to know

It’s one thing to say that on a message board, but it’s another when you have to actually deal with a fan base.

Nothing matters when it comes to this fanbase except if he came out and said he always liked the Cowboys.  People that want him to stay want him to stay. People that don't want him stay won't change their mind.

I don’t know if that’s true. I think there are a lot of fans that think his radio silence act is a bad look and is souring on him even more because it’s coming off as pouting after he played poorly.

Who said anything about the media? This is about him communicating to the fans.

The fans don’t need him to say anything either; not everything is for public consumption.

I want him to learn Sirianni’s playbook, learn his offense, study film on the Colts offense of the last two years, and get into training camp prepared.  I want him focused on improving; as a fan I don’t care and shouldn’t care about anything else.

That assumes he’s all in.  If he’s not, all he has to do is let Lowie know in private.  Stafford wanted out, the organization agreed, and he was gone very quickly.  McVay wanted Goff gone, the organization agreed, and Goff was gone quickly.  If Wentz wants out, he’s in the same position as Watson, where the organization doesn’t agree — and Wentz has significantly less leverage than Watson does at the moment.

With Doug gone I don’t see any obstacle between Wentz and the organization.  The may be hard feelings from Wentz towards some of the media and fans, though.  If that’s the case, then being silent is the correct course.

Again does he really have to deal with the fan base? No fans allowed at the games as of now. Nor does he need to interact with them on a daily basis during covid. Frankly he could workout, train and never see the fans or talk until camps begin and games begin. What are fans going to do? Cry he didn’t talk to them and let them in on what he’s thinking. I think fans believe they are entitled to more than what they really are

Like Mark wahlberg said in the departed "my theory on Feds is that they’re like mushrooms, feed em crap and keep em in the dark”. Replace feds with fans It’s basically the same thing.

They were calling him crybaby and other crap way before the season ended when all of those fake reports came out that he was being a bad teammate

Yeah like him speaking will change people’s minds. Those who don’t want him made it up prior to this point or when mclane released his story or "sources” said things with their opinion like breer today. so even if he says he wants to be here people will question his authenticity anyway. Legit he doesn’t owe fans crap. Fans think they are entitled to more then what they are cause Twitter and social media makes them believe like they deserve it. They aren’t eagles employees or work for the organization so really what are they owed when he doesn’t have to talk before and after games? Literally nothing.

The guy is making ridiculous money for subpar play and they just dumped the coach who won the super bowl in 2017 for him.  His contract constraints what we can do around here at this point.  He needs to nut up and command the team. Who cares about media and fans he’s lucky fans weren’t in the stadium. He needs to learn Siriannis system focus and do his job. He does that the rest falls into place. If he can’t do this he needs to request a trade and worry about feelings elsewhere.

Sorry, this isn't anecdotal. You can choose to ignore the backlash if you wish. The NFL/networks chose not to ignore the backlash, which is why they stopped showing the NA.

You can try and rewrite history if you want, but you are only fooling yourself.

Yeah people sitting around at home with nothing to do, "lets NOT watch the NFL because of Covid". LMFAO.  You have to be a troll, you HAVE TO BE.

The ones I know personally, haven't come back yet.

And I personally don’t know any snowflakes like that. Either you like football or you don’t

The only thing that will change minds is what he does on the field next year.

In Canada, the national sports networks here pirate the FOX/CBS/NBC broadcast, so we’re stuck watching commercials from Canada rather than the originating broadcaster.  During wildcard weekend they repeatedly showed a mental health ad, where it depicted two men "of an alternative lifestyle” hugging each other for emotional support.  Not my thing

My reaction, however, was not to stop watching football — I chose to shake my head and chuckle, rather than choose to be offended.  I choose the same reaction to quite a few social justice initiatives.

They? Not all fans calling him a crybaby were calling him a crybaby then. I guarantee you that.

I don’t agree at all.

Well, that's the Philly sports media and (some of, enough of) the fans, ones who keep WIP alive and well and profitable, who need more than the Xs and Os and want this to be like WWE.  A soap drama for men.

I agree with @Alphagrand, that he owes me nothing as far as social media takes, etc., mostly because I don't care about that.  All I want from him is to make a decision as to whether he's had enough of this organization and wants to move on to another team or if he's going to commit to this team.  And if it's the latter then I want him to work his ass off on working with the new O staff to learn the O, working with his teammates (as much as they will be allowed) to build chemistry and working on himself both physically and mentally to be the best QB he can be.

When guys like Cox and BG come out in his defense (and now Fulgham with the recent retweet he did) and knowing the beat writers in this town if you swallowed those reports of him being a sulking bad teammate then you're just a mark.  You're exactly the person those stories are written for.  Seriously, what do people expect him to say exactly?  To deny those reports?  Then you'll have people saying "Well, of course he's going to deny them" and still not be satisfied.

Hey, Carson, you don't have to say anything if you don't want to.  Just bring your lunch pail to work everyday and listen to your coaches when they're teaching you how to be a better QB.  That's all I need from you right now.  Thanks.

I’m not saying he needs to say anything right now... unless he wants to be here. In that case it’s stupid not to say anything.

I’m surprised this didn’t gain more traction in here.

If the DOD hadn't paid the NFL to have its players on the field for the national anthem before every game because recruiting was down, we would not be having this conversation.

Where were all the super patriots when the military needed you to enlist ??  So worried about what a player is doing during the anthem, but not patriotic enough to go serve your country.

You don’t have to agree. However There’s been a good portion of fans I’ve read on Twitter, Facebook groups and Instagram don’t care what he says and want to trade him based off what mclane reported, schefter/mortensen said. They don’t care what he says or if he wants to be there and feel like he’s a baby. There’s a good amount of those fans. They just want him gone in general.

Add on there’s the portion who thinks hurts is just better for the team going forward. Ans some who think they should’ve kept foles and didn’t and don’t like him for that reason.

You can believe whatever you want but based off the groups on Facebook, Twitter and IG the irritation casual fans are going to be irrational and made up their minds already. Meanwhile if they trade him and he balls out they are the same fans who’ll be complaining why did they trade him.

Anybody want to tell him about Frank Clark or Tyreek Hill?

And as soon as he says he wants to be here and to make it work out for the franchise that gave him a shot, things will smooth aver pretty quickly with many fans.

I was surprised during Sirianni’s PC when Eskin asked him if Wentz would be on the team in 2021, and Sirianni didn’t have an affirmative answer on that.  I guess I expected him to say "absolutely”.  I took from that reply that Wentz wasn’t as gung-ho as I would like

Hopefully they’ll keep communicating and get on the same page

Is it? Even if he says he wants to be here there’s fans in this fan base that will say he is just saying it and not authentic cause he should’ve said it immediately after the season ended. Or they’ll say well he really doesn’t want to be here cause he had to think about it. i think you view everyone will just accept him saying he wants to be here and fans won’t attack him if he does. I think that’s completely wrong. Some will but there’s a lot that just want to move on and don’t care if he wants to be back

People will bash him for talking and go through every word he says with a fine tooth comb. People will bash him if he keeps to his own. Hes kind of in a no win situation.

I'm just wondering what everyone is so dying to hear him say? What is so important that we have to hear from him? Can;t he get his vacation with his wife and new born child? Dude took crap all season, let him take some time to clear his head from all the BS the media and fans are bring during his off time.

The season ended a month ago. He was benched two months ago. How long do you want him to take? As long as he needs? He’s not a grieving widow.
