The "wanting to be here” thing is overplayed by the media.  Tom Brady probably didn’t want to be in New England for the last 5 years.  I doubt Rodgers wants to be in GB right now.

All of these franchise level qbs care about situations, legacy, money, nothing more.  Right now, we are a bad situation.

This isn’t some Wentz thing, so I wouldn’t put it on him.

He's said he wants back and the president has said this

"I'll say this, there's no way in heck that Aaron is not going to be on the Packers,” Murphy said on WTAQ-WNFL radio in Green Bay, according to ESPN. "I mean, he is going to be the MVP of the league. He might have had his best year ever. He's our unquestioned leader and, you know, we're not idiots."

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I’d definitely disagree with this. If the QB wanted out, he’d be gone.

As I said above, Carson obviously doesn’t want to be here; why would he?  That’s obvious, not newsworthy.

The real question is if he wants to buckle up, make the best of it, and say something nice, or if he is going to stay quiet until camp.

I don’t really care either way.

If you like the Eagles it’s kinda hard not to care.
This isn’t just another WR or DL it’s the QB the leader of the team.

I want my team on the same page I don’t want anyone looking over their shoulder a divided locker room or any distraction next season.

If the DOD hadn't paid the NFL to have its players on the field for the national anthem before every game because recruiting was down, we would not be having this conversation.

Where were all the super patriots when the military needed you to enlist ??  So worried about what a player is doing during the anthem, but not patriotic enough to go serve your country.

you do know with the avg enlisted people only staying active duty for less than 8 years, that our military is constantly being turned over, which means there are more former service persons than you might think. Yes, not the majority, but its not like thats a really small number, the number of former military people outnumber the active by a large number.

just saying.....

I am going to start pointing these things out and tag the post  "Another easily researched not thought out response"

I brought this up multiple times what logically sounds more probable.

A. The Eagles need to draft a cheap back up quarterback. Even though howie Roseman knew in the 2020 offseason they needed to rebuild and only put it off for a year due to the pandemic and having the division have all new coaches.

B. The Eagles were unsure that the end of 2019 was the true Carson Wentz. They played three teams picking in the top five and the one decent team they played (cowboys) the Eagles offense still struggled. So the Eagles knowing Carson Wentz and his contract is what it is they had at least two more seasons with Carson before they had to make a decision on whether or not to continue with him. So thinking they are the smartest people in the room they said well if Carson isn’t the guy that he was at the end of 2019 then we could be ahead of the curve draft a quarterback that we like and allow him to be groomed for two years and at that point he should be ready to take over if we have to move on from Carson Wentz. Now if Carson is end of 2019 Carson they can continue the charade and concoction they came up with that they needed a cheap backup quarterback

which makes more sense? Doesn’t make much sense to me if Howie Roseman knew the Eagles were going into a rebuild and invested a second round pick in a cheap back up quarterback when he knew a rebuild was going to take two or three years. How important is a back up quarterback in the grand scheme of things in a multi year rebuild?

We didn't need to sign anyone.  We had Sudfield as backup and Doug and the organization thought so highly of him that he though he deserved a shot the last game.

Clearly lurie thinks highly of suds based off his presser.

Does not change the fact that recruiting was down and the DOD had to pay the NFL to get interest.  I guarantee the majority of internet patriots worried about Kap never served.  Every single person I know that served has no issue with him kneeling.  I know plenty of people who never served who took issue with it.

We didn’t have the $10m available that is necessary to sign a backup qb in this league.  So we had to draft one.  And a backup qb with the theoretical chance to start is great value in round 2.

$10M?  I just looked up FA QBs for 2020 and I'm not even through the Fs in ABC order yet I've found 5 that were all signed for less than $3M.  Yeah, I know, QB Factory.  Sorry, but when Hurts can't use his legs he's not quite a starting quality pocket passer.  @downundermike, how many scoring drives in the 2nd half out of how many series again?  2 for 19?  2 for 24?  Something like that?  Wasted pick.  Howie outsmarting himself.....again.  Schmuck.

So sad how people allow themselves to be manipulated by the lying media.

That’s just one part of it. Players are talking too. I know what Jenkins says doesn’t matter but he did witness what went on in the locker room.

I would like to just hear what Carson has to say.

Regarding Wentz tweeting any sort of confirmation that he wants to be an Eagle I don't care one bit if he doesn't.  Is he required to communicate with the fans?  So he's being quiet, who cares.  No matter WHAT he says, the media will twist it and make some sort of story out of it.  They would say something along the lines of "Carson, usually the quiet type feels the need to tweet his allegiance to the Eagles." and then they would ask why a guy who stays off social media chose to speak.  There's no winning.

Enjoy the off-season in ND with your family, lean up, lose some of the muscle and come back ready to show what you have.

2 for 24.  And he was on pace to have more turnovers than Wentz, and be about equal in sacks.  Before he became the starter, he was fumbling the ball on 25% of his touches on gimmick plays.

If the reports of Carson not being able to handle the pressure of Hurts being his backup are true, then I don’t know if we should want him here anyway.

If Wentz watched the last two games Hurts started, and I assume he did, he doesn’t see Hurts himself as the threat.

I believe he’s more concerned about the national media and some Eagles fans pumping up Hurts into something he’s not as the main threat to his job.  The head coach wanting to go forward with Hurts (reportedly) validated his concerns

Again then you still have people who would say that was fake and don’t believe him. And why did it take him so long to say it and why didn’t he elaborate more about why it took him so long to talk. Or question that a true leader would’ve said this immediately after the season. And so on and so forth

You seem to again think that’s not gonna happen. IT WILL. Again it isn’t going to be all rainbows and sunshine like you think when he gives that statement. It never is in philly.

But It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia!

Case in point:

BLG, who cares.  Maybe he's making an effort to avoid social media (I know he said congrats to Rodney).  Who cares.  The media WANTS this to be a story.  They don't want a happy Carson, they prefer he's not happy so they have content according to ESP.

And 3 failed 4th quarter comebacks means Hurts is not clutch.

You could randomly type these mind boggling horrific stats on every single page, and it would go completely unnoticed by the entire Jalen Jerk-it crew.  He could have been the least accurate passer we've ever seen and they would still think he's an upgrade.  Oh wait.....he was!

Well, I should say that while I found 5 and only through the Fs in ABC order, that I meant 5 who could be at least as good as Hurts or better.  You did more leg work than I did so I tip my cap to you, good sir.  But it still stands that we didn't have to shell out to have a competent backup QB behind Wentz for 2020 nor had to use our 2nd round pick on one.  Again, Howie is Wiley E. Coyote, Super Genius.

I like blg but frankly I know why John Barchard left and WIP did not want him. I think so solak and kist are just better at breaking things down and with their takes on the matter. I feel like over the last couple years BLG tried to become more like ESP because he knows that’s going to get clicks on his website. He has a lot more hot takes since barchard left then he ever did before. Not that i disagree with that tweet but he’s strayed off where he used to be before barchard left.

The backup QB who played the most snaps this year, and went 5-5, had a cap number of 3 million.  Got a guess who it was ??

It’s obvious nobody on the team wants to play for the Eagles

It couldn't possibly be that these guys just want a break and don't check/post something on social media every minute.  I'd be more worried of players that are constantly posting crap.

Lane, Ertz, Kelce, Cox, Smith, and I don't remember who else has come to the defense of Wentz over the years

Agreed.  It is their time away from football.  I am sure we will get statements at the appropriate time, and by appropriate, I mean when the players damn well feel like it.
