This gives you a revamped secondary with 3 potential studs (along with some size), one of my favorite wideouts in the draft, some speed at LB, etc. Along with a solid C, a power runner with a lot of tread on the tires and some additional draft capital next year.

The eagles did themselves a complete disservice by waiting a week to fire doug. They should’ve just done it when he went in there the first time. If we believe the reports they were super impressed with Arthur smith they had a chance at him but since they were a week behind atlanta already had the upper hand and escalated it to offer him the job. At that point no way the eagles were going to offer without interviewing more than 2-3 candidates.

I like it. I do think you see the eagles draft a tight end to develop in the later rounds. With ertz more than likely gone they only have goedert entering the last year of his deal (i believe they’ll extend him) and dick rod. If they didn’t d**k around with alshon and Pup they likely have toigai here still and that’s the developmental prospect they really like. They have butler and the former buffalo QB but i think those are guys they put on PS to develop. I think they need one that can play limited snaps next year.

You could potentially see that in 6 or 7 for sure and then looking for another RB in FA. I actually like Rodgers as a TE2 though, and I know I’m in the minority. Lol. 
 

I would not be upset with a trade down and grabbing Pitts either. They’re definitely not gonna plug all holes this year, so that developmental TE might be an FA too. I think as a position group secondary is our biggest hole. I was disappointed with everyone in the secondary not named Slay this year and even he had a so so year. 
 

I know offense is the name of the game now but a D that can average ~20 points against and cause some turnovers is gonna win you a lot of games.

If they let NCAA players make money off marketing and actually use names and likenesses I’ll be WAY more interested.

I still am not completely sold the Jets move on from darnold. I think they’d deal for watson if possible. However i wouldn’t be shocked if they go forward with darnold as Kyle shanahan and LaFleur were high on him in SF before LaFleur moved with saleh. I do think it’s much more likely That they like Wilson over fields. I could also see if the jets go Wilson and Dolphins go smith that atlanta is the perfect trade up partner for a team needing a QB that loves fields. Maybe Carolina. 

This would be fantastic news for us. 

Yeah, I feel pretty confident Darnold will be a Jet next season.

Kind of how i feel. I think they would love to trade out of 2 for a team wanting a QB and stockpile more picks. Although I think they’re in a bad spot right now. Atlanta today said they are moving forward with Matt Ryan. I don’t know if that means the foreseeable future but he’s only 35 in the league today with quarterbacks and with him having minimal injuries he could play until he’s 38 to 39 so they don’t necessarily have to go quarterback. Then the lions I’d assume since they can move on from Goff after this year could go QB but makes it more difficult to know. Really Carolina, Denver is where teams that really want a QB could sit. Not sure the Jets want to fall back all the way to 8 or 9 range. I think douglas would likely take Sewell cause he’s a meat and potato type of builder even with taking becton early last year.

I actually could see something like that playing out. I think if you want to trade back the most ideal scenario likely hoping that either Zack Wilson or Justin fields is still on the board at six. If they are still on the board I think you’re gonna get a team in the teens that’s willing to give you a lot to move up to get one of them. That said I have a hard time believing Wilson and fields make it to six. If that happened that is a great position for the Eagles to be in because I think there’s a lot of teams from 7 to 20 that would love to get one of those two

 

Sorry if it’s been posted already but Nick Sirianni says on 94 WIP when asked about the QB position that every position including QB will be a competition.

 

So don’t expect to hear a starter named for a while.

Also, I would trade Darius Slay in a heartbeat.  Not that he isn't good but he isn't part of a rebuild at all and is expensive.  Whatever draft pick or young player you can get for him is going to be a bigger benefit when this team is ready to compete.  Sucks because we legit have no corners but he's an asset to be moved.  I'd be happy with a 3rd for him.

If they are dealing Carson it’s going to be before the third day of the new league year. Unless they tweak his contract and move the deadline for the bonus/guarantees

I’m guessing a title contending team would be more willing to part with a pick(s) if they felt they were on the brink. I can see seattle with their atrocious secondary going that route. I think sf is moving on from Sherman. So i think slay would be a fit there. Eagles should actually have a decent market. Not sure they get back the third they invested but I’d hope they do

We traded a 3rd and 5th...do we knock it back to a 4th and a 6th?  Just a 3rd?

Ideally want the 3rd and 5th. However even if i just got a third i could always trade back and get more picks out of it. It really sucks we traded a 4th to acquire Avery last year. It really sucks cause it’s a high 4th. 

Any word on Dak, and is he supposed to be 100% by game 1?  That was a pretty nasty injury and I can’t see the Cowboys putting the franchise tag on him again, with the numbers at 37 million, that’s a fortune if he isn’t all in for the season. 

Trading Darius Slay is absolutely insane. I understand your rationale, but legitimately good corners don't grow on trees.
