I dont know when they originally started but that idea was still being pedaled around just last week as fact.

Thank you. He alluded to it in a tweet that manu posted. And it’s not definitive it came from the eagles.  And frankly I don’t think the Eagles would want it out there that the Colts didn’t want him. That takes away one team and they’re trying to deal him as of last week

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Yeah I always took it as someone just saying, "They weren't sure".  The original comment was made during that initial McClane article, shortly after Pederson was let go, I believe.

We never had a stud WR to trade away for a bag of chips and busted old RB.

But we do have a bag of chips and Sanders will be a busted old RB before we are competitive.  So maybe we can get in on one of those trades.

No, not from the Eagles themselves but someone linked to the Eagles side of it.  I think the quote was something like, "Someone close to the situation is not sure Reich would take him."  Which was already a rather "weak" statement to begin with.   Basically someone saying, "Yeah, I don't know if Reich would take him".  Even the source is saying "they're not sure".

Honestly how does that help the Eagles eliminating the Colts as a potential place to trade him as of last week when Jeff mclane reiterated it when manu posted the tweet? That doesn’t help the Eagles it actually hurts them as a team is removed that should really like wentz because there’s a connection to Frank reich and Carson Wentz when they’re trying to drive up the price. It would actually make more sense for the Colts to try to deny it so they act like they’re not that interested so they don’t have to pay a higher price looking needy

Big QB news

Yeah, me neither

Too many fingernail contusions from holding the clipboard. You hate to see a career cut short like that. Best of luck to him.

Reporters sure think highly of the influence they have over NFL front offices.

Then why do front offices use the media to leak info? For funzies?

We're in agreement, I don't think comments like that help the situation at all and I don't think McClane re--tweeting it (if that's what he did) weeks after the fact helps either.

I don’t hate mclane like others do on here. I think there’s some stuff he gets and nails it. However I do think there’s sometimes part of his story that he embellishes or his sources embellish and he knows he can run with it because he can hide behind the anonymous source where people can’t say it’s untrue or true. And frankly if I was a reporter I probably do the same thing because I get a ton of clicks and people are going to read it and talk about it.

This team never learns. Why another guy with a injury track record. Howie next year can tell Lurie how the eagles suffered a bunch of injuries.

Well, that's out of left field.

we can all safely assume we’re going to be interested in a lot of former Colts.

Take that Marlon Mack report with a grain of salt. That's the same twitter account that said Eagles were releasing Jason Kelce as a salary cap move.

I expect if hooker doesn’t break the bank that he’s a guy coming off an injury at a position of need they’d go after.

Thought you were going somewhere else with this ...... the last half of your sentence became less interesting

Teams are required to interact with the media because it is good for the League.  Reporters want to report what is going on with teams.  Teams want to maintain relationships with reporters for a number of reasons.  I think that FO, coaches and players are never hurt by having a good relationship with some media.  To some degree, there is very little job security and those kinds of relationships can help them change or continue a career when they need to do so.    Certainly front offices do want to manipulate information at times and shape a narrative.  I don't think any NFL team is going to look at some reporters story and think I need to offer a first for Wentz because this reporter said some other team made that offer. I would find it incredibly hard to believe that a GM would base his decision on an asset worth millions of dollars on what he sees being reported.  The value of Wentz to teams only has to do with how they view Wentz as a player.  If they think he's a franchise QB that was in a bad situation and had a bad year, then he's worth a first round pick or more.  If they think it's a 50/50 kind of deal that he helps, I'm sure they would only want him if it wasn't a high cost investment.  It has nothing to do with what is reported.

Never break the bank for a hooker coming off an injury.

I disagree. Teams/agents will leak that info and then use that leaked info to attempt to drive up the price. Happens in trade talk. Happens in FA.
