January 12, 20214 yr I have my eagles wish granted for a day. Doug is fired I'm happy now for a replacement I want Eric b of duece or the bills offensive coordinator, if he fixed Josh Allen Carson should be easy.

Lurie: don't want to get into it, private. Saw this as a retooling of the team for mid-term/long-term decisions (not short-term). How would we best set up for success 2-3 years down the road. I'd rather not talk publicly about specific coaches but we saw things differently. It's more about where we are as a franchise heading into a retooling and a real transition period, trying to attract new OC and DC and other staff. You might not have success in that transition right away, so don't want to put Doug in that position. Paraphrase "We expect to suck for about three years before we become relevant in the NFL again”. And that’s assuming Howie even hits on his picks. Meh, we’re toast.

January 12, 20214 yr Thanks Doug, you have my respect for bringing us home the long awaited trophy.....good luck on your next stop

Why do people keep saying they fixed Josh allen?? He is only in his 3rd year. He struggled as a rookie with absolutely nothing at receiver. They got him some help his second year and he improved pretty decent over his rookie season and now his 3rd season he is playing phenomenal with even better weapons. He was never broken regressed or a bust. He has progressed each year like a QB is supposed to do

If they don't want to give him OC or head coach hopefully someone else scoops him up. Dude is the only one that has his group ready to play game in game out year after year

But respect him enough to not use him as a check on a check off sheet.

January 12, 20214 yr Lincoln Riley, Brian Daboll, Eric Bieniemy, Duce Staley, Joe Brady in that order is my personal wish list for the next head coach.

An interview w/ fiesta banners, fireworks, fire-eating performers , all the works. He deserves this... hopefully Howie’s on an elephant & he falls off & thus, suffers an amnesia...

I understand that Howie is very unpopular with the media and fans, but I think that has more to do with his appearance and image than with his actual performance compared to other NFL GMs. Clearly Lurie cares more about winning than about making fans happy, or we'd have a GM that looks and sounds like an NFL guy rather than a GM that looks and sounds like a really good accountant. Whether he's right about Howie or not, who knows. I don't pretend to know why Lurie would fire or keep Howie, or what the right decision would be. So the fans dislike Howie because of his appearance. It has nothing to do with the fact he hasn’t drafted a pro bowler since 2013, and the cap is so mismanaged right now we are facing $70MM over the cap going into next season. But it’s his looks that are causing the problem. Right, got it.

January 12, 20214 yr Howie is going to scare the best candidates away from this job. First- he can’t draft. Second- he micromanages the team. Listen to what Doug supposedly said- he got tired of being told what to do.

January 12, 20214 yr It’s pretty simple. Howie is a bean counting nerd who administratively makes it easy on Lurie so Lurie has blinders on to what is really going on. A lot of businesses are like this and they underperform because of it. It will take a change of ownership to get things back on track.
