Time to end Gerrymandering. GOP has to cheat to win.

Judge says he'll block Gov. Ron DeSantis' redistricting plan

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A congressional map approved by Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and drawn by his staff is unconstitutional because it breaks up a district where Black voters can choose their representatives, a state judge said Wednesday.

"The judge recognizes that this map is unlawful and diminishes African Americans’ ability to elect representatives of their choice," Lawson said in a statement emailed to news outlets. "DeSantis is wrong for enacting this Republican-leaning map that is in clear violation of the U.S. and state constitutions.”

I currently live in Maryland, a blue state. It was gerrymandered pretty bad. GOP pitched a fit. So the state redrew Congressional maps over a weekend, and IMO they got it much better. This is what it looks like now:

What's going on with Maryland's congressional district lines? Hint: There's a new map in town. Here's where we are now. – Baltimore Sun

Maryland GOP is still unhappy because they didn't pick up any seats in Congress. Too bad! Where there are Republicans living in the state, nobody lives there! They have to be wedged into suburban/urban districts. (The state is already a gerrymandered shape anyway, squeezed in between PA and VA, with DE cut out of the Eastern Shore.)

Anyway I feel like Florida was done much worse by DeSantis. Not a peep from GOP!

A judge just blocked the FL congressional map though, so it looks like they'll have to re-do it anyway.

Good. That's the way it should work. But Florida primary is scheduled for August, so they need to get moving in order to get candidates to petition and file, get the ballots prepared, etc.

Republicans claim voter fraud in their own Primary. No election is safe now.

Donald Trump’s pick for governor of Nebraska was defeated in Tuesday’s Republican primary there, but in a showdown between two congressional candidates in West Virginia, the former president’s choice won handily.

Trump won Nebraska by 19 points in the 2020 election, and yet some of his supporters in the state insisted that those results were unfair. Nebraska is one of two states that divide their Electoral College votes, and Joe Biden won one of those votes despite Trump’s strong showing.

Two Republican candidates for Nebraska’s secretary of state — the office that oversees elections in the state — have claimed without evidence that Nebraska’s elections have been tainted with fraud.

Father Of Former Marine Released From Russian Prison Calls Out 'Son Of A B*tch' Ted Cruz For Not Helping In Son's Release

Of Cruz, Reed said:

"He didn't do anything."
"He's an embarrassment to the state of Texas, let me just say that."
"I don't care what or who runs against him, I will work for their campaign to defeat that son of a ****."

When Cruz called the family, Joey Reed said he asked the Republican Senator:

"'Where have you been for the last 2 1/2 years?'"
"I hit him point-blank: 'We are not appreciative'."

Reed family spokesperson Jonathan Franks told Insider:

"They don't need celebratory tweets or phone calls when their loved one has been released."
"They need tweets and phone calls when their loved ones are in jail."

Of course, per new GOP policy, when you do nothing, or oppose something, be sure to tweet about it like you worked hard for to make it happen.

Yeah, that actually looks somewhat normal.

What a POS

Cruz said in a statement:

"We were repeatedly advised by Administration officials that my taking a public role in this specific case would be counterproductive and that because of my role fighting to stop the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, leaders in Russia may well have linked the two issues."

According to Joey Reed, Cruz was asked to help his family in 2019—during the administration of Republican President Donald Trump—while Cruz's objections to the Russo-German Nord Stream 2 pipeline weren't until January 2022.

Joey Reed pointed out Texas GOP Representative Michael McCaul also publicly opposed Nord Stream 2, but was still a vocal advocate for Trevor Reed's release.

Every election they lose is rigged. Pointless for their voters to even waste their time when their votes are meaningless. Hopefully they learn their lesson and stay home in the future.

MD was one of the more gerrymandered states. That's a much cleaner map.

Is it okay for Biden to submit fake electors this next election?

It won't bother you, right?

As long as it is ignored by Congress and the national archives like the ones that occurred in 2020.

A group of local party leaders did that.  It did not happen at the electors appointed and confirmed by the state.

Truth hurts, eh? All you had to do was admit fault, say you hadn't realized Trump went to those lengths, and that you find those types of actions antithetical to the American values of democracy. But you didn't do that, did ya? You just couldn't resist an opportunity to downplay what he did by lying about what happened because facing the reality that you made an egregious mistake for all those years defending him was too much for you to bear. Inability to ever admit fault is something you and him will always have in common, which I suppose is why you clowns identify with him so much.

Yeah they totally went rogue and the false electors from those 7 states weren't coordinated at all. Those Meadows and Eastman emails and texts were all fabricated and there was no involvement from Trump's administration whatsoever. Good call, bud.

Did you read past the headline of the article you linked?

And you continue to assume that I supported Trump's actions in any way or that I am privately hoping for any felony charge to finally stick and prevent him from running.  Georgia appears to be the last hope.

The guy who tried to claim no false electors were submitted is calling out others for failing read anything.

No false electors were submitted by a state.  Yes, I should have been more clear.

He's been doing this for over 24 hrs. now: Complaining about things people didn't say, being evasive by turning the tables, clinging to every little strawman and technicality he can to avoid the truth. It's all ripped directly from "How to Argue like a Trumpbot 101." He's not fooling anyone. Trumpbot/Trump apologist, it makes no difference. They're all lining up to be enablers and passive witnesses to the downfall of the republic.

More specifically, the governors or secretaries of state didn't certify the ones submitted by the GOP officials from those 7 states, no.

Now are you ready to admit Trump's involvement and coordination from those like Eastman and Meadows, or did the GOP members from those 7 states magically go rogue in unison out of sheer coincidence?

I mean, attempted murder is still a crime. It's not much of a defense to say "don't worry, we were just too stupid to pull of a coup."

Nope, sorry vikas. You have now officially tarnished your credibility by making this same analogy. Or so says the totally not at all trumpbot BBE
