Letting one's Christian faith guide their politics is fine when the focus is "love thy neighbor" and ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

The problem is Christian nationalists ignore the teachings of Christ pick out the parts of the bible they feel backs up their persecutions and use the heavy arm of government to force people to follow and live by their dogma.
