It does, and it shouldn't. Gerrymandering is bad for democracy no matter what state it's done in. Though the current state of gerrymandering is giving more of an advantage to Republicans than Democrats (owed largely to the 2010 election that saw Republicans take over not only Congress in DC but many state legislatures in swing states)

States like California have actively worked against gerrymandering. New York is doing the same, having created a commission to redraw maps after the 2020 census rather than allowing the legislature to do it.

Now that PA is more fairly drawn, the most gerrymandered states are NC, MD, & TX. NC is slightly better than it was - maps earlier this decade had a state that was about 48D-50R in the 2012 presidential election sent 3 Dems and 10 Republicans to the house. That's out of whack.

Gerrymandering should be actively fought no matter where it's taking place (red or blue). It leads to too many comfortable districts, which leads to too much radicalization. It's one of the many contributing factors of our current state of political dysfunction.

Unfortunately the federal government, under limits out in place by the constitution, cannot force states to work against gerrymanders. So pressure has to come from state action.

No room for any anti-coup Republicans in the party.

no - but I live in a blue gerrymandered state - some act like only one party does this

I’m old enough to remember when Republicans were in favor of democracies.

Some are idiots.

I am constantly amazed that people believe that a party grants goodness in some way.

He says that Marjorie denounced QAnon, comments about the school shooting and denied anything about space lasers...in their private session last night.

Yet she says she has nothing to apologize for.

That worked for the Naht Zees - they just said they didn't mean it and that was an end to it.

I think "They're going to judge <insert name here> on the things they said" is now my favorite Republican defense. Like, just the absurdity of it.

Thank God she finally came to her senses. Could you imagine how embarrassing it'd be if she still believed in conspiracy theories?

They keep having a choice and they keep choosing lies and Trump.

He also said "QAnon, did I pronounce that right?  I don't even know what it is."  Yet they're voting on whether she should be removed because of it.  How about do a little research?

I think the larger issue with her was calling for the murder of her colleague. Calling Sandy Hook a hoax is a close second.

Yeah I mean after 4+ years defending everything Trump said even while in office to pull that is silly.

he's pronounced it correctly on camera a bunch of times before yesterday. he's just being a lying weasel, as usual.

They really need to split.  This needs to be a moment to draw the line in the sand.  You either support this, or you're out.  Gotta take a stand.
