I think many of the politicians - probably at least one of those NOTW showed above - attend church purely to maintain their identity as politicians. What makes the Trump with Evangelicals picture galling is that Trump is the farthest thing from following Christ's teachings in the White House for a long time. The fact that these people were praying for Trump exposes not Trump - we know what he is - it exposes the Evangelicals.

And the religious right embraced him. It was sickening. There have been voices in the larger Christian community against it and against Trump but they don't get the same coverage.

Feels like just yesterday everyone was rightfully laughing at the democrats for being their own worst enemy. I am worried about the gerrymandering from republican legislatures manipulating house results in 2022.
