Wishful thinking. There's no tactical advantage for Trump to start his own party. He already owns the gop lock, stock, and barrel.

True, mostly. There's still about 30% in the party that would not vote for him. Mostly moderates and some centrists. They seem to be leaving the party by the thousands.

He can't win another presidential election and I suspects he knows it. He wants to play king maker to stay relevant. That's not to say he won't run again. He still probably will

In my experience, it's not really policy driven when looking at who is leaving the party. Educated, successful people are leaving the party in droves. Most of the people I work with are registered Republicans, and the overwhelming majority don't support Trump. We are all fiscally conservative as hell, but Trump isn't a real fiscal conservative. More importantly, educated and successful voters simply can't stomach voting for a moron who clearly has no interest in doing what is best for anyone but himself. The last holdouts I knew jumped ship after 1/6.

If he's eligible, there's a 0% chance that he won't.

That's my thought. It's too much of a money maker for him, and he loves the attention from the rallies. He will probably launch another book to coincide with the campaign about how he was cheated out of the last one.

Will we see a split in the Dem party as well in the next 5 to 10 years as well? Moderates and far left?

From the Gannan is vindicated for calling the majority of republicans violent fascists file...

Quote

A majority (56 percent) of Republicans support the use of force as a way to arrest the decline of the traditional American way of life. Forty-three percent of Republicans express opposition to this idea. Significantly fewer independents (35 percent) and Democrats (22 percent) say the use of force is necessary to stop the disappearance of traditional American values and way of life.

Although most Americans reject the use of violence to achieve political ends, there is still significant support for it among the public. Nearly three in 10 (29 percent) Americans completely or somewhat agree with the statement: "If elected leaders will not protect America, the people must do it themselves even if it requires taking violent actions.” More than two-thirds (68 percent) of Americans disagree with this statement.

The use of violence finds somewhat more support among Republicans than Democrats, although most Republicans oppose it. Roughly four in 10 (39 percent) Republicans support Americans taking violent actions if elected leaders fail to act. Sixty percent of Republicans oppose this idea. Thirty-one percent of independents and 17 percent of Democrats also support taking violent actions if elected leaders do not defend the country.

Let's also not get confused about republicans mean by "the traditional American way of life" means.

Not as long as MAGA and Trump remain in the national conversation. No one has done more to unite the Democratic Party than Donald Trump.

Not to worry, the Democrats will sabotage themselves. They cannot help it.

If the republicans nominate Trump again, it will be the biggest gift to the dems they could have ever hoped for.

It is pretty common courtesy in here to provide a link.  In any case, you don't need to have any concerns with my work ethic.  I've done 60-70hr weeks thru most of my career.  Might not be good enough for your sector but that's fine with me.

It will be interesting to see how the Republican party continues the charade of supporting Trump as their party leader, as big money donors are rejecting him... But there seems to be a small, but significant number of elites that have crowned Trump their champion. So is this the play? GOP drives a wedge through the rich and powerful, keeping a minority in number, but who will remain loyal though anything?
