CPAC will be interesting to see the path the GOP takes.

My guess is on their knees, praising Drumpf.

QPAC updates:

Quote

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who dismissed mask-wearing as "virtue signaling,” joked about his trip to Mexico during his state’s brutal winter freeze last week.

"I’ve got to say, Orlando is awesome,” Cruz told the cheering crowd. "It’s not as nice as Cancun. But it’s nice.”

Cruz added: "Let me tell you this right now, Donald Trump ain’t going anywhere.”

Out-of-staters attending the event had high praise for DeSantis as a potential 2024 candidate for president.

"Absolutely 100% we would support him,” said Marla Luciano of New Jersey. "We would work morning, noon and night to get him elected.”

She added, "His leadership during this ‘pandemic’ has been phenomenal,” making air quotes around the word "pandemic.”

But DeSantis would still have to get in line behind Trump.

"I think Trump is more powerful outside of office than he was inside of office,” said New Jerseyan Elizabeth Nader. "And we’re going to see him do a lot to lead the party. And he’s going to make us focused again on 2022. So will he run again? We don’t know. ... In no way will we ever leave that movement because it’s the true American movement, and DeSantis understands that.”

So, by that, you mean completely uninteresting in every regard?

All the right does is deride "virtue signaling" but they literally do nothing but "virtue signal" to their base.... "radical left", "socialist", "cancel culture", etc... these are all just buzz words as fuel to their dummy base to help them avoid getting into actual policy discussion.

Yep.  Their "virtue" is allegiance to Trump or belligerence towards the left, which is infinitely weirder and even more meaningless/pandering than the liberal version of virtue signaling.  And Trump is the ultimate right wing virtue signaler: meaningless platitudes that project strength, while personally folding when confronting a stronger enemy.

No truer words have ever been spoken.

Exactly. They literally have no party platform. It's just "whatever Trump says".

I'm smelling another TrumpBot email coming soon.

And around the country they are winning, I get mocked by some for focusing on state legislatures but because republicans control many they are almost guaranteed of getting the house back

He laughed when I said Trump's actions leading up to Jan put those seats, and by extension, control of the Senate, in danger. He said the Senate was a lock to remain under Republican control.

How is that different than anyone else?  Didn't Obama say in support of Congressional candidates that the election was about him, for instance?  Will candidates piggyback onto Biden in 2022?
