I don't like Hannity, but he's not wrong to a degree. Krav Maga and others, if taught by a high level instructor, and practiced often do have disarming techniques. Jiu-Jitsu is loved by team guys like Jocko for a reason as well. Should Hannity be the poster boy for it? No. As someone who's been in martial arts his whole life he drives me up a wall when he talks about his training and Kenpo. Will it help if you charge someone straight on with an AR? Probably not. Are there situations where training could take one down? Absolutely, but people laughing at that statement outright are ignorant as well.

I study Kenpo. Yes, I've learned how to defend myself if someone is holding a hand gun pointed inches from my face. Nothing to help me against a lunatic spraying bullets across the room with an AR15.

Yeah, Ed Parker should have thought about that. If you charge someone straight on. No. If we are hunkered down with our families and one come around the corner of a store where you are hiding will it help? Better than not having it. Will Form 8 help in the open? No. Will it help in a similar situation above with your EDC? Better than not having it. I'm not going to run up behind one to put them in a RNC unless I had to, but could the knowledge come in handy? Sure.

Just like what they teach the team guys isn't going to help them running across a field in the open, but hand-to-hand situations arise. Is it a defense? Yes. Is it the best one? No, but if someone trains, keeps up on things, and knows the limitations, I don't they'd regret it. Is Hannity an idiot? Yes, but the point shouldn't be mocked IMO.

And how many times have you encountered that in your life?

Fortunately none. I’m only doing the kenpo thing for exercise and stress relief.

Good for you. It is a good one to take.

Sure, the bible has answers for everything. Disobedient child? Sell them into slavery.

Angels visiting? Give your virgin daughters to a crowd to quiet them down.

Interesting that you would discourage picking up the Bible.

Why? Horrible book filled with violence, rape, and horrible behavior, used again and again to kill people.

I encourage reading it. I do not encourage basing our laws on a book that holds up a God who sends a wrath of bears to tear apart children for making fun of a man's bald head.

Sounds like a man who always salts his grain offerings.

The Bible is not a "how to" manual.  It is a book describing God and his creation and their interactions.

It was just used by the Speaker of the House as his basis for decision making. Did you miss that?

Ah yes, the Religions of the Book.  The ones which have spent centuries murdering each other over which sequel they prefer and why.

Trick question numbskull.  If he had he wouldn't be here.

I would discourage it as a guidebook for governing.

If your answer to problems not explicitly "solved" by "the book" come down to "pray it away", I dare say you're a terrible leader of men.

Have you actually read it?

Um…no

its another in a long series of human created narratives trying to explain the unknown. More specifically what we didnt understand at the time, some of which we still dont

A religion teacher, a Catholic priest who taught in Dougherty, was a pompous jackass who would throw me out of his class for asking questions about the stuff in the bible.

Thanks to him, I read it cover to cover, so I could find a story that would make him turn red and kick me out of his class. I would get suspended, and my parents would ask why, they would say, "Asking questions." and their response, "And you don't like that in your students?"

Most of the moral lessons are horrible. Sadly, the New Testament, actually has a lot of good guidance on living a moral life. The GOP rejects these lessons as being soft, and liberal.
