It's definitely satire.

Nah, F that breed. Extinction of pit bulls is better off

I've had pit bulls, I have one now. It's absolutely not the breed. Pit bulls are pack dogs that crave being around the family. They're loyal and protective. They are actually big babies and cuddly. They get nervous and anxious when people come to the door because they are protective. Too many dog owners don't TRAIN their dogs, and that's for any breed. People just get any dog because they like something about them without researching and learning the traits of the breed. Example a dog bred to work outside and they stick them inside all day and they get bored and chew up the furniture. Pit bulls can be trained to be calmer when someone comes to the door, to sit and wait. They feed off the owner's energy as well. If the owner is calm, they will be calm.

It's the humans and training that are the problem.

I had an unleashed pit bull come at me when I was going for my walk. Scared the bejeezus out of me. I was ultimately able to scare it away. Bad dog owners are the absolute worst.

inbreeding doesn't help matters, but that can be said about most dogs.

I wonder if it's more about the physical characteristics specific to certain breeds than the behavioral ones. I feel like any dog (especially rescues) can fall prey to instinctive behaviors that don't mesh well with what we expect of family pets. But the ones with the physical ability to inflict more damage are naturally going to make the headlines because the severity of their attacks is obviously so much worse. In other words, if a kid puts their hand near the bowl of a beagle as it's trying to eat, the kid might get bit and have a nasty scar to remember for a while. But making the same mistake with a pitbull would end up with far worse injuries or even death. We rescued a schnauzer / terrier mix of some sort and trained her extensively to be patient once we found out my wife was pregnant with our oldest. Kids are so unpredictable and dogs have to be accustomed to that if they haven't grown up around kids. We did the food bowl test probably a thousand times before my daughter was old enough to crawl.

My daughter and soon to be son in-law rescued a dog 2 years ago.  It's a mix beagle and after testing is 51% pit.  She was most definitely abused.   The vet pulled a bb out of her about a month after they had her and daughter found the bump.  It's true they do want to be trained.  They figure this out pretty quickly when they know you are the one feeding and taking them outside.

I am still mindful of her as she will growl at me.  Especially when I'm at my daughter's house. She most definitely does not like strangers or other dogs.  At all.  She went after my son once.  I feel she was probably in or near a crack house in the south.  She did pretty well at my house over Easter weekend with visitors around.  She calls me Gigi.  I keep toys and treats for her when she comes.  I watched her for a weekend too, and I did fine.  Her name is Bernie.

Trump won't rule out election violence if he loses to Biden in November: 'It depends'

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-wont-rule-election-violence-151803526.html

  • Trump wouldn't dismiss the possibility of political violence this election season if he loses.

  • He said in an interview with Time: "It always depends on the fairness of an election."

  • Trump also reiterated the possibility he'd pardon the 800-plus sentenced Capitol rioters.

Former President Donald Trump said in a new interview that he's not ruling out the possibility of election-related violence if he loses to President Joe Biden in November.

Time released a lengthy interview with the former president on Tuesday conducted mostly on April 12 at his Mar-a-Lago Club. The conversation focused on his ambitions if he won a second term, such as mass deportations, getting rid of "bad people" in government, and how he might fire his attorney general if the chief law-enforcement officer refused to prosecute someone at his command.

When first pressed about the prospect of "political violence" over the upcoming presidential election, Trump said he didn't think it would play out.

"I think we're going to have a big victory," he said. "And I think there will be no violence."

Two weeks later, Trump spoke with the Time reporter for a follow-up, and the reporter asked specifically if violence might erupt if he didn't defeat Biden.

"I think we're going to win," he said. "And if we don't win, you know, it depends. It always depends on the fairness of an election."

Trump added that he'd "absolutely" consider pardoning each of the more than 800 sentenced January 6, 2021, rioters, an idea he's brought up before.

"If somebody was evil and bad, I would look at that differently," he said.

In the years following the Capitol riot, the threat of political and election-based violence doesn't appear to have diminished.

A poll last year from the US Association of Former Members of Congress and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, found that a whopping 84% of ex-members of Congress were worried about election-related violence in 2024. In total, 94% of Democrats said they were "very" or "somewhat" concerned about the threat, compared with 74% of Republicans.

Former Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone, who was attacked while defending the Capitol on January 6, told Business Insider in February that he was certain election-related violence would return this year, adding that it "never stopped after January 6."

That looks like JonBenet Ramsey in the picture behind him.  So her brother didn't actually kill her .....

I wonder what RFK Jr. would say if he knew about this?

Reps Massie and MTG will motion to recall Mike Johnson as Speaker.

Johnson will get support from Dems, to keep demands from extreme Republicans at bay.
