I think what you're saying was true maybe 2 or 3 years ago. That he pretends to troll to mask his intellectual deficiencies is well established. But somewhere along the way, he started to believe more and more of the nonsense he reads. To the point where he's having some sort of mental breakdown or just dealing with a mental illness.
