In all seriousness, how does no one on her staff stop her from Tweeting that? They can't ALL be that stupid.

This really just tells you what they think about their voters.

Not to mention the fact of what happens to people who contradict "the story"

MAGA would flip their lids if someone Tweeted that 45 was wearing the wrong tie that day.

I can't believe it's still up. I guess deleting stupid tweets shows weakness?

You know, thinking about your last line there - what they think about their voters....

I hate to say it, but I think her tweet is actually politically savvy.

Because her base is old people who don't like change and carry unwarranted grievances. They were given a gift by the greatest generation and squandered it.

They feel entitled (literally) to their medicaid and medicare, they just don't want the "others" to get it.

So this tweet telegraphs in a way that appears logically inconsistent to those who actually care about .. reality, and the meaning of words .. but to her target audience it says "I'll protect the benefits you deserve as 'real Americans' and make sure those undeserving get nothing"

Popular socialist programs aren’t real socialism.

Gov't benefits for me not for thee.

It's weird how many times I see these idiots write how much they absolutely despise fascism, yet they want fascism at the same time.

It's not *fascism* when we do it.  - Actually, it is. But they can't call it that, or the mindless lemmings won't follow.

Yeah, and Trumplicans have no problem yelling Socialism, while receiving free Education, military defense, Free Police and Fire Dept. and Trash services, farm subsidies, corporate handouts and housing, water and electricity handouts.

Fascism is more about style than an ideology.

Ultra-nationalism, fetishizing "strong leaders" usually meaning a cult-like following around a particular "strong man" often featuring propaganda demagoguing the leader, willingness to use violence to suppress opposition, populism lacking an actual ideology it's about framing anyone who speaks out against the main party as an enemy of the state and mobilizing government power against them .... those aren't a complete list, but it's a strong core.

Because fascism described largely far-right authoritarian regimes historically it's associated with them, but one could certainly be a left-wing fascist (Hugo Chavez comes to mind as a left-winger who I'd say at least exhibits many attributes of fascism).

In either case, Trumplicanism checks a lot of the boxes. I think fascism is way overused in US politics, but no other administration in the modern era at least (that I'm most familiar with and lived through) comes close to resembling fascism in the way Trump's did.

Ultra nationalist in a way that framed anyone who didn't support Trump as an enemy of the state? check...
"Strong leader" with a cult like following? check..
Propaganda?  the rise of OAN & Newsmax when Fox News (Tucker aside) wasn't quite up to the challenge checks that box. not to mention our old buddy Ben Garrison (who also fetishizes the strong-man)....

Populism lacking an actual ideology? big check.

Fortunately his attempt at a coupe (and I absolutely believe it was an attempt) on Jan 6 failed. But it certainly shakes the confidence that we have in a United States.

You can look at it either way.  We were shaken but the guard rails held and that showed a level of strength.  I saw some foreign journalists and politicians talking about how amazing it was that the Congress came back in and confirmed the vote just hours after the attack.

Jan. 6 shows just how fragile democracy is. Good for us democracy held, but we may not be so fortunate next time.

If Florida continues spiraling into the toilet with Covid infections, does this somehow knock DeSantis' chances of being elected president?

I've seen GOP polls where Don Jr. is at the top. Pretty sure it is all smoke, mirrors and cesspools right now.

Too long, but has some great bits.

So if Republicans engage in Bi Partisanship and vote for legislation to help the American People, Than you are agreeing with Pelosi. So I guess that makes you a RHINO and are no longer a Republican. I guess it's the duty of Republicans to obstruct everything, even if it helps people. According to Fox News.

GOP Sen Cassidy Tells Laura Ingraham ‘Fox News Watchers’ Love Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill (Video)

Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy insisted Monday night that "Fox News watchers” are big fans of the bipartisan infrastructure bill, even as actual Fox News host Laura Ingraham told him she wasn’t.

Ingraham’s point of contention was that, to her mind, President Joe Biden and his administration "played” Republicans with the bill. She said, "The White House is, as I said, quite giddy about this. Reuters describes this as a ‘glide path’ to the $3.5 trillion tonight and they write this up, Senator.”

Cassidy responded by bringing up the people of his state, Louisiana, and sharing his concerns that they are worried about impending flooding or want a better job.

"I talked to Fox News watchers,” he said. "They love this bill.”
