As a general rule, the people I know in the military approve of order and competence, which means they have no affection for Trump nor Biden.  Their attitude is typically "350 million people to choose from and the best the political system can give us to vote for is a pair of clowns."

thanks.. serious question, speaking gaffes and age aside, what policy decisions impacting the military has Biden made that point to incompetence? I mean that sincerely - from a layman's perspective outside of the withdrawal from Afghanistan he's handled most situations pretty well, NATO and Ukraine being at the top. and outside military decisions he's got some blemishes, but on the whole has been generally fine. 

I get that he comes off doddering and old at times, but as an administration it seems like we've navigated the last 2 1/2 years pretty well. 

Edit: FWIW I agree with the whole "we really can't do better than these two?" argument. my main point is when contrasting what Trump did - especially after losing the election - with how Biden has conducted himself, I cannot see how these two are even in the same universe. Biden might be way down the list in terms of people who should be considered serious candidates for the office .. but Trump should never have even sniffed the list, and after J6 I just don't see how the military can view Trump as anything other than a traitor to his nation.

I get that, but I fear putting an ex president in prison makes us look like a banana republic and will create an endless cycle of revenge where each party attempts t imprison prominent figures from the other one. Also unless, he's shanked in prison, the next gop president will pardon him and let him out anyway.

Let them try, if there are crimes to prosecute then go for it. If it's a bunch of made-up BS, the American people (the sane ones) will see through it. And besides, there's not gonna be a next gop president for a while.

I’m good with this concept IF there is enough in the plea deal to make sure others are properly deterred from doing similar things in the future. Something substantial in addition to no more public office needs to be included. Probably several additional items.

Seriously though, it’s hot out there.  Our tour guide was going off on the Vatican Museums for not having A/C other than at the entrance. She was like "I think they can afford it.”  I don’t know…

It’s all good man.  The idea of a high-priced museum in the U.S. not having A/C is unheard of in 2023.  But I get some of the European museums are in much older buildings.  Idk, I never thought much about it until this week.
