Eagles trade pick #6 and #156 to Miami for pick #12, #123, and a 2022 1st

When you consider that he tried to move up to 3, and probably had a deal on the table and then Miami pulled the deal off to leap over him get to 3, only to then come back to Howie and get right back up to the top 10, yeah Howie got worked.

Who says he was trying to move to 3? There was only 1 source and it was vague before the rumors started. Maybe he just asked how much it would take ..and considering how much our team needs rebuilding, decided that it was not worth it and having and extra 1st round in 2022 will give us more flexibility. It was a good value trade for what we got. The trick now  is to pick the right guy at 12. ..and there will still be a lot of talent on the board. Most likely a CB that we desperately need to pair with Slay.

I used to defend Howie and try to justify his moves and reason out what we might be trying to do but I’m just done.

This guy Fin sucks

He is such a POS. a-hole trades back and will blow pick 12 reaching for someone.

Great point about the coaching.  Look at how many guys we drafted that are playing much better elsewhere that were absolutely terrible here.  It's very telling.

100%.  Best example I can think of is how Agholor blossomed when Mike Groh took over as receiver's coach.

Sirianni is supposed to be a receivers whisperer.  Let's hope his staff will be able to get better play out of those already on the roster.

Rotten eggs?                                     Sorry about that.

When the Patriots built a dynasty, the routinely traded a pick in the current year for a higher pick the next year - that’s how you improve the franchise by trading a $1 for $1.50 next year to desperate team that needs to get better to keep peoples jobs. This is the only smart deal I’ve seen Howie do in a long time.

Difference is that the Pats were always drafting at the bottom of the round.  This was a high slotted first round pick.  And Howie's only pro bowler he drafted as No. 2 overall.

I didn't like this year's draft. We need a beast gamechanging edge rusher more than anything and this year it didn't look like there was any worth a 6  So I was in Team Trade Back.

I still wish we got more value out of this trade down, though. If the Dolphins pick isn't top 10 in the  next years draft this is a loss. And the pick tradeup  didn't even get us to the top 100 either

Watch them win the superbowl

The difference between #6 and #12 is 400pts in our favour.

How can the difference between 6 and 12 be in OUR favor when we traded DOWN.  It's in Miami's favor, not ours.

We’ll never know. I’m just putting the pieces together.

F OUR FO!!!...they did this for no other reason than paying a superstar player in 4 years...these pieces of crap are cheap a-holes...like they’ve always been...I’m sick of this crap...trade down for more picks that will be late first rounders NEXT year...anyone else would’ve gotten a kings ransom for that pick...

I’ve seen some dumb takes on this trade, but this one is the worst.

What’s dumb?...the fact that over the last twenty years I’ve watched this FO, and other FO’s here pass on high draft picks, and either pick someone like JJAW, instead of DK metcalf...over and over again..I’m Fing sick of it...just so they don’t have to pay for a superstar player...

Value wise, they get 2 firsts for 1. Just moving back 6 spots.

Plus moving a 5th to a 4th.

So depends on which is more valuable: a guy they would've got at 6, or 2 guys: #12 plus the 1st next year.

What do you think we are gonna get late in the first round next year, right now, with roseman? Don’t know, right...so let’s trade pitts or chase or smith for I don’t know....

I'm sad. hope someone amazing falls but not our luck

Someone asked before whose first round pick we are getting ...In 2022 ...we are getting Dolphins 1st round pick..Not the 49ers pick.

All I know is people keep thinking the Eagles are gonna draft one of these Alabama receivers. Well I highly doubt it even if they’re available to be picked. Ike Reese was on the radio today and said the Eagles didn’t even send a representative to their pro day. They sent reps to BYU and to ND State but no one to Bama? Food for thought the last time the Eagles selected an Alabama player was Freddie Milions all the way back in 2002.

This is the issue...pick lesser players, pay less for them, keep them longer and hope for the best....eagles FO are Fin pathetic losers, and oxygen thief’s...F em, and F the eagles...

There’s a few things wrong with you assessment. First off the Eagles have the 8th highest payroll in the league so they certainly aren’t cheap. Second it doesn’t matter what level talent the player is, cause he’s paid from his draft location. That’s why regardless of what Barnett did or did not do he was scheduled to get that 10 mil  roster bonus if the Eagles picked it up. I don’t see this team as cheap, but rather they’re a group who consistently make really bad decisions.

Someone great will go one spot before them. This is the same old Howie BS trying to out smart everyone.

If the choice ends up being Chase at #6, or Smith/Waddle at 12 + a 2022 first, then this a home run for us.

I think they believed Wilson could be their guy, but once 49ers moved up, they lost any and all chance of getting him.

As for Bama, Smith and Waddle declined to work out so maybe they already felt they had enough tape on them and didn't need to see those guys stand on the sidelines the whole pro-day. One positive is that maybe this means they're not interested in Mac Jones.

And the players talent and ceiling are assessed and then placed in their draft position....so when you have position 6...you do not trade back to 12 with hopes of the following year being better, when you have no idea who is going to be at those picks...

Not if Chase turns out to be the next Julio Jones.

Yes if Smith/Waddle turn out to be the next Larry Fitzgerald/Tyreek Hill.

As prospects this trade is a win, who knows how their careers shake out.
