We got 3 speed demon weapons for Carson, OL depth, one of my favorite S’s, an athletic freak at LB (with two other for 2nd strong competition/ST) and a rotational edge rusher. On top of that we got a 21 year old athlete at QB who gives us some gadget possibilities...who may have to play sooner than we think. I also include Slay in that. We used 2 picks from this draft for slay imagine what we could have had with those two picks yet.

Wentz has all the making of an elite franchise qb and maybe the most talented qb ever to put on an eagles uni. But he has bad luck with injuries. Injuries That seam to comes from trying to do too much. He needs to do a better job protecting himself and so does his o-line.
April 25, 20205 yr Some final thoughts now that the draft is over. 1. With Joe Douglas being gone, this is the first time that Howie has really been the dominant voice in the room. I think if he missed on a few of his wild swings, the team may make a lot of changes in that area. I am giving Hurts a redshirt year, but that kid better be absolute fire by the start of the 2021 season. Reagor has to be very good this year, and by that I mean establishing himself as a solid #2 behind DJax, and being a #1 if/when DJax gets hurt (this is by the end of the season. I don't expect him to be good right away due to missing OTAs.) Taylor has to eventually win a starting job over Gerry/Edwards. If those things don't happen, I don't see how you let him keep drafting. 2. I like the decision to focus on OL. Brooks, Lane and Kelce are all getting up there. The team is bringing along some young guys who can step in there. I get the feeling that the safest picks in the draft were the two linemen. 3. If Jones/Maddox can't lock down the CB2 spot, I feel that we really blew things by passing over legit CB prospects in round 2. 4. The team probably needs to add a RB, but other than that they look pretty good heading into the season (with the exception of CB2.) Both lines are solid. I like the decision to move Mills to safety. Slay will obviously help at corner. They have put some resources into LB. They have a ton of speed at wr. I like that they aren't afraid to make changes and to take big swings. But, at least as far as the draft is concerned, they have to start hitting some homeruns.

Hoping they sign a vet but I doubt they will. I'm basically counting on them to sign Freeman, Hyde, or Shady to a one year deal so I think RB will be just fine. For the first time in a very very long time the Eagles drafted for speed, athletic ability, TRAITS as opposed to just production. They also went for fits, with Taylor, Bradley, and Wallace being prime examples of that.

April 25, 20205 yr Schefter says they drafted Hurts to have a quality back up in case carson gets Covid-19. Seeing as how he’s injury prone, I totally buy the chances of him getting the Rona are exponentially higher than everyone else.

Of all the potential reasons for this pick that might be the dumbest one I have heard yet.

I accidentally posted a couple times on the old board but all good. Go Eagles! Looking forward to the UDFA thread. Thanks, it was truly a community effort to get this all done and going.
April 25, 20205 yr I think in a nutshell this draft just goes to enforce the idea that this front office truly overthinks the hell out of draft picks. It will be interesting to see how all of those players they passed from 53 on. I mean for a WR class that was so deep and talented....we honestly dropped the ball because now we are going to have to draft another WR in the early rounds next year when Alshon(could be gone this year still) and DJax are gone, and Reagor is your only legit WR you can count on to start...
April 25, 20205 yr Lol Eagles trade for Goodwin...draft two burners on day 3 with limited route tree and now reports saying we sign two burners as UDFA. Hmmm "F" for Howie
April 25, 20205 yr Defense backfield for both teams is going to be a s*** show when the Eagles go against the cowboys

April 25, 20205 yr A Packers guy loved our draft. Not sure I agree with him on Driscoll, but Prince could turn into a really good tackle and Wallace seems to be a solid, round 2 guy at safety.

April 25, 20205 yr Honestly after being furious over Round 2 yesterday, looking back at the overall draft I’m happy with pretty much all the other picks. Only surprise is we didn’t pick up another RB. I guess they’re really high on Boston Scott and maybe they want to bring back Clement for one more year?
April 25, 20205 yr Like I've mentioned before, I don't follow college, so I don't know anything about college players (other than pre-draft hype). So I can't say if this is a good, bad or middle of the road draft. At least one of the NFLN Talking Heads thought that the Eagles were one of the 'most improved' teams when the entire draft was taken into consideration.

I don't follow college, but I like adding a few receivers, and LBs. Always ok with adding OT depth too. I'm still not a fan of going QB in round 2, but I'm going to try and not let that overshadow the entire draft.
April 25, 20205 yr Well I'm pretty sure we will not have the slowest set of receivers like last year. Fools cannot catch but can definitely run. JJAW on the hot seat.
