Howie needs to be like Joe Banner:  contracts, cap, negotiations and trades.

Need a VP of Personnel - replace Weidl with someone better - to have full control over scouting, personnel and setting the draft board and deciding who to pick in coordination with taking the coaches input.

Or:  get rid of Roseman and Weidl and get a new GM.

Weidl is Howie’s fall guy. Howie will get another chance to screw the draft up next year because he’ll blame Weidl, coronavirus, blah, blah, blah.

The thing that sucks is we’ve had some pretty decent talent evaluators but they all leave because of the way the organization is structured.

If this forum is ready to go for the Draft I say we post here and not on that 'other' site.  Leave it an effing ghost town so the Eagles PR/marketing team can see what they're missing out on with most

Howie needs to stop the other 31 teams from participating in the draft!

So that’s where Howie is going wrong. Forget interviews, all 22 tape and workouts, this is 2020. How many highlight videos do they have on YouTube? The prospect with the most is bpa.

lol...

why salty at me. If Howies longshots he takes high up in drafts ever panned out, there would be room for leeway. But when he gambles with longshots high up in the draft, they never seem ro work out.

Danny Watkins, Sidney Jones for example...

Times he nails the draft, when he takes highly rated players whom everyone esle alao had highly rated auch as Cox, Ertz Wentz, Sanders.

Sorry seen enough of his drafting to know when he ia gambling, and he is gambling instead of taking the safe productive players.

Just saying maybe they dont know about YouTube. You could change the trajectory of this franchise with one simple phone call.

your snarkyness wont get them a better player.

kids got potential... but we need players now, not 2 years from now

With Howie in this draft it's no longer about Production but speed.

Maybe not but it's worth a shot and I'll die trying.

he did state he wanted more speed.

He obviously also feels we dont need much priduction from players right away. Though i am not sure i would agree with that.

Whatever we do today it's meaningless.

Yep. This will be the fastest but worst draft from Howie ever.

with 3 fourth rd picks, we could add some good players...

Key word... could.

we will see. I do like Reagor, and w 3 4ths we could still get some good players.

but we basically threw away our second, took a gamble with our 3rd. It would have been nice just to take some safe no brainer picks.  We still have many holes to fill

With Howie in charge? We won't.

Look not salty at you, I’m just fed up of everyone judging a draft / draft picks before it’s even finished. They say that it takes 2-3 years to evaluate a draft, yet we seem to think it takes 2-3 minutes.

Back to my original point, Taylor was not Considered a 7th round prospect. From what I’ve saw he was a 3rd / 4th round prospect, so I think making statements like that just unnecessarily fan the flames.

Also, from what I remember this board almost unanimously loved the Sidney Jones pick despite it being a gamble. Results of that are tbd as well.

But in the case of Hurts I think many acknowledge that actually he's a good prospect. He could be a really good NFL QB and he's got tools to work with for sure.

But the pick makes no sense. Irrespective of the player the pick doesn't make sense. That's my issue with it.

I do agree with you, but I Don’t think that the pick is completely illogical. Carson has got a history now with injuries, and as such it’s very possible that he won’t finish the season again going on recent history. I’m not saying he’s injury prone, possibly just unlucky. But either way, the team has to be able to compete without him.

with the above said, I still would have been so much happier with Mims at that spot.

Dude the pick is completely illogical. The argument for needing a good back up is a fine argument but doesn't actual apply to Hurts. A young rookie who needs developing is not a good reliable back up. He's a wildcard, he's an unknown.

Meh, I can remember a similar argument and reaction made about Kevin kolb going back 10 years (admittedly McNabb was older than wentz at that point). But we got the investment back at a later date with interest and had a decent backup in place in the interim. I see this the same way with hurts. We get a quality backup for a few years, if he flashes enough we get the investment back.

You don't draft to get your investment back further down the line. There's no guarantee on that return. That's a dumb strategy.

Day three targets

C - Harris, Biadasz, Hanson

OT - Charles, Throckmorton

WR - Gandy-Golden, G. Davis, Gandy-Golden, Johnson, DPJ, Hill, Q. Davis

DE - Weaver, Robinson, Tszuka

LB - Dye, Davis-Gaither, Bradley

DB - Hall, Jackson, Robertson, Holmes, Wallace, Reed

Not exactly encouraging given we HAVE to take one.

Back to my point though. This is only a bad pick if he doesn’t pan out and they don’t get the investment back.

If wentz goes down, and hurts wins us a Super Bowl in his place then it’s the smartest / best draft pick we’ve ever made.

again, you can’t judge a draft after 3 minutes. Only in time.

Ok I'll somewhat concede that. If he gets a good return then fine. But you don't adopt that strategy that's a dumb strategy.

Teams really reached on WR's in rounds 2 and 3. This is why you dont wait even in a historic draft class. If nothing else they got that right by not getting too cute at 21.

I like Solomon Kindley, Netane Muti, JR Reed, Bradley Anae, Thaddeus Moss.. maybe DPJ and Amik Robertson.

But they also got it wrong because there's not a whole lot left at WR and we HAVE to draft another.

No we don't. If we don't like what remains we can still go out and find someone else after the draft.
