I thought he handed that off to his son a few years back.

There's no doubt in my mind he made the final call on Lamb. Oklahoma. He's been doing that since Barry Switzer and DeMarco Murray. Not sure what the connection is.

Hes certainly no jerry jeudy but his burst/cuts in his route are very nice. He didnt show an extensive route tree in college but i'm not really worried about that

It would have been wasted by his abysmal QB anyway.

If this forum is ready to go for the Draft I say we post here and not on that 'other' site.  Leave it an effing ghost town so the Eagles PR/marketing team can see what they're missing out on with most

Howie needs to stop the other 31 teams from participating in the draft!

That was the last time Alshon ran under 4.5, certainly never did in midnight green.

Which bolsters my argument that the Eagles never even try to obtain the type of strong, big, fast receivers that dominate the top yardage rankings.  Alshon is probably as close to that archetype as anyone they have had since Mike Quick left in 1990.

I don't agree at all, I love the way he fights for the football.  Might drop a couple but he's really good at finding the shortest route to the ball and going after it.  Jumps well too.  he is not small, 5'11" and built like a RB.

I have not watched him play much, so I will take your word for it and look forward to seeing it.  My only caveat would be that doing that in the NFL is a little bit different than doing it in college.

Nah, it's not like that.  I just always dream of the Eagles having, not a "speed" receiver or a "shifty" receiver or a "possession" receiver or a "reliable" receiver, but a full-out dominating receiver.

A receiver that is not like the guy in the PG-13 movie that everybody is really hoping is going to make it happen, but like the guy in the rated R movie, you know, the guy who you are not really sure you like yet, a big bear with claws and fangs:  Swingers - You're Like a Big Bear

I'm so confused right now

So what do we think the Eagles do today?

Is it just the second round today?

What time does round 2 start?

I feel you. We can go back a number of years and I feel for every good duo or trio of WRs we’ve had, we’re always left wanting for that premiere DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Johnson type we feel pushes the team over the top. The struggle goes on....

So what do people think we do on day two then?

Is it just the second round today?

Agreed for the most part.  Even though probably slower than 4.22, I feel confident he falls well ahead of the 4.47, and he may "play" faster that his timed speed because of extraordinary quickness.  BUT.  His speed is his game, and a guy at his size has to have extraordinary speed to be successful -- I am concerned that "one of the fastest guys on the field" rather than "clearly the fastest guy on the field" may not be good enough, because he is simply not going to be a "win contested balls" or "hold the defender off with his body" guy.

I am so happy with that pick. After Lamb I was feeling the perfect nightmare built up with us selecting Jefferson. Was ready to write: Eagles just can't draft a WR.

And then it is Reagor. Total stud WR. That's awesome!

2 + 3 as usual I think. There are a few names to watch: Mims would be interesting. Would be super happy if we could land Fulton in the second, though that seems unlikely..

Or maybe a safety in McKinnon?

If we could get Mims even with a small trade up then that's pretty much offense sorted. Maybe one fourth round OL to develop...

Still would rather draft a top backup in Hurts in the third over sitting Flacco or some random other veteran behind Wentz, but that's just my preference.

See I feel like that's too steep a price to pay for a back up QB... Ultimately you want Wentz to stay healthy and if he doesn't then I'd be OK with a Flacco coming in to replace him.

I get that.

To me, when I look at Hurts I see a really good QB with very high upside. If Wentz would miss time (god forbid) having a really good backup can make the difference between a nice try and a superbowl win! Sure, if Wentz is healthy he didn't make the team better. But still, to have a really good backup that doesn't break the bank and has lots of room to grow.. I think it's well worth.

Oh for sure I'm a fan of Hurts but a third round pick on a player ultimately you hope never plays? With the holes we have?

The 103rd for him as our backup seems like a very good deal to me. Will let you hold me to that call in a few years! 😃

I like Hurts, I wouldn't be spitting feathers about it but given our holes and given this draft I just don't think I'd do it.

No for Hurts

I’d hate that pick. Way too early to draft a backup QB with all of the holes this team has. I’m totally fine with Sudfeld as the backup now that he’s healthy. Better chance to win games with him than an unproven rookie IMO. I’d assume Hurts would want to be drafted to a team where he could at least challenge for the starting role at some point too. I get that he doesn’t really have a choice but having unhappy player in the locker room doesn’t help anyone.

That might be ok if this team was stacked in many areas, but they could still use a lot of help from those who can possibly contribute. For now we can get by with Suds, and if they want to get McCown or Flacco in the building, so be it.

In general terms I would agree. But in this specific case I'd say that quality at that position trumps the usual way to go.

I think the eagles value versatility almost as much as speed.  Reagor is fast and versatile. And I don't think the eagles are done drafting WRs......if somebody they like gets to the 10th pick in the 2nd round, they may move up and get him.  They could go after Mims or Higgins too.
