You're not convinced Slay News is breaking the news that the COVID vaccine flips a "kill switch" on your immune system?

Yeah. That’s why I said it’s "never not funny”, implying it’s ongoing.

Stop it dude. Yes, there were untruths told by many govts and many people regarding COVID and COVID vaccines.

Also, it is completely factual that the vaccines lead to milder cases of COVID and thereby lower rates of hospitalization and lower rates of death. All the statistics bear out that conclusion. Also, yes there are side effects for some, even deadly side effects in rarer cases (I personally know of a guy that died very shortly after his first shot). In the end, the overall effects of the vaccine is significantly positive. Anyone in a risk group or having reached an elderly age should be getting regular vaccines unless they have some complication. Others should probably not get them at this stage but they can make that choice themselves.

New York confirms 1st locally acquired case of chikungunya virus in 6 years in US

The mosquito-borne disease is most common in tropical and subtropical regions.

The New York State Department of Health has confirmed a case of locally acquired chikungunya on Long Island, marking the first case of the virus reported to be locally acquired in New York and the first locally acquired case to be reported in the United States since 2019.

Laboratory testing at the department’s Wadsworth Center confirmed the case in Nassau County on Long Island, according to health officials.

"An investigation suggests that the individual likely contracted the virus following a bite from an infected mosquito,” officials said. "While the case is classified as locally acquired based on current information, the precise source of exposure is not known.”

Chikungunya is a mosquito-borne disease most common in tropical and subtropical regions and symptoms include fever and joint pain, headache, muscle pain, joint swelling, or rash, officials said.

That virus sucks. The pain can be brutal and has a chance to turn chronic. Let's hope it's not working it's way north.
