Not only does it help save the lives of the infected, but it helps people with completely unrelated problems receive treatment that they otherwise might not have.

Delta first emerged in October and changed the game in a huge way just over half a year later. A jump from an r0 of 3 to an r0 of 7 is mind numbingly massive. If we can keep it at bay with a booster every 12 months, then it's a small price to pay.
