Like black and white, Democrat and Republican…the media and government is making this into yet another divisive us vs them situation. I’m vaccinated, as is my wife AND we both had Covid in 12/2020. Mild cold symptoms only but figured we’d get vaccinated and we did in 3/2021. Both did Pfizer and both of us were worse from the vaxx than from Covid. I actually wound up in the ER as I had such a bad inflammatory response from shot 2 that my left ring and pinky fingers went numb due to swelling and couldn’t raise my arm above 45 degrees for over a week. I’m not anti-vaxx, but I sure as ish am not going to outcast and alienate people who choose not to. And I’m definitely not going to cheer for countries going overboard. November 23, 20214 yr Good thread discussing the concerns of selective pressures vaccines may be putting on variant emergence. TL/DR: The overall net effect on variant selection is neutral, or even a net benefit, due to vaccines reducing transmission of all variants at such a significant rate. In other words, any signs of vaccine-selected enhanced transmissibility or immune escape are not showing up in the real world data thus far.

There has not been any real world evidence of significant immune escape from variants, it is mostly just a media led narrative. 11 hours ago, Iggles25 said: We are a world divided. And that sucks. For those of us with a brain the pandemic is over, the numbers don't lie. For those that feel it is too much to get a booster every 6 months then screw them too. Quite frankly cutting the population down by about a billion or so would be ideal, great for the planet. As George Carlin once said the planet is fine the people are effed

And sorry, I'm vaxxed but the continuous boosters are silly. It'll never end. This is most likely an endemic and may be seasonal like the flu, not like smallpox where it can essentially be eradicated.

The unvaxxed are putting a strain on the health care system in many places plus it is felt the more the virus is around the bigger chance of a worse variant that evades vaccines, I do not buy that one, there is no evidence of that. Also still many people not eligible or it does not work properly so the less virus floating around the better for them. Boosters are really not that big a deal, you can walk in pretty much any walmart and CVS and get a booster in minutes.

For those of us who had the virus in the past year, and have had both vaccine doses in the last year...I don't see the point to getting yet another shot. Maybe in another year or two I'd do a booster.

Let insurance companies deny coverage to those who choose to be unvaccinated (not those who medically can't be). Want to take the risk, then pay for it. Do the same with Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare. 2. End all mask government mandates and other restrictions that are basically designed to protect morons from themselves. Stop having politicians cater to the lowest common denominator. Companies are still free to do as they choose (e.g., Starbucks can require masks if they so choose). Do this, and we can all move on.

Nothing other than claiming never ending boosters are inevitable, which is not a foregone conclusion. And even if they are, it's somehow silly despite the fact we already have annual flu shots for a virus that is far less dangerous.

I admit I don't KNOW if this will have endemic status with a neverending series of boosters, it's an opinion. But despite your false feelings of intellectual superiority, you don't know it won't be. Neither opinion is "right"...yet. All I ask is you start dangling from my left nut a bit, the right one is a tad sore from you swinging there so often.

Have never had one, and surprise...have had flu exactly once in my lifetime, 23 years ago. Businesses, states and/or the federal government don't attempt to mandate them either. At first, fully vaccinated meant 2 rounds (or 1 J&J)...now it's not fully vaccinated without the booster. In my opinion, boosters will go on indefinitely and you won't be considered fully vaccinated without your annual. Prove me wrong.
