Worked out, cleaned the guest room up a bit, made sausage and meatballs, and am on my way to the liquor store. Great morning so far.

Does that mean you win?

Well, do you currently have sausage and meatballs? I rest my case.

lol that you actually think what you're wearing on your face triggers anyone instead of just making them think you're a total spaz.

Kind of doesn't compare since I'm six hours ahead.

Man, these vaccines are working just so well. I'm sure the fourth shot will really do the trick and if not, 5 looks like absolute money!

I used to forget about it all the time. Between the NJ mandates, work, and also having worn a respirator daily for 25 years, I hardly notice it on.

Do the same people that this obviously infuriates also get upset when they see someone with sunglasses on inside?

Only tools wear sunglasses inside

My dad went for those test, they told him to do exactly what he does at home before going to bed.... He brought a 6 pack of beer lmao

No surprise here

https://www.foxnews.com/health/almost-half-reported-ny-covid-19-hospitalizations-not-due-covid-19

Almost half of reported NY COVID-19 hospitalizations are not due to COVID-19

Over half of COVID-19 hospitalizations in NYC were not due to COVID-19

Yep, here's the breakdown:

Our hospitalization data has always been a lie. And people wonder why there's no trust in anything our government does.

Yeah. You. It makes you more angry than not covering the spread with the electric bill money on the line.

I definitely beat every human on earth that's not eating meatballs later.

I normally get up around 6 on weekends, 5 on weekdays.

omicron is more contagious, so a lot more people have mild cases of omicron than previous variants. they started releasing breakdowns like this because with omicron it actually matters, because there are actually substantial number of people being admitted who are testing positive for mild or asymptomatic cases. this was not the case even 3 mos ago.

your dopey disingenuousness knows no bounds.

Anything with a 98% survival rate is, by definition, mild.

Update: my son and I took a PCR. He was positive and I was negative. My wife and daughter are certainly positive since they were both a lot sicker than my son. My kids are both fine now but the wife is still laid up in bed. I’m obviously immune but that’s to be expected when you’re the offspring of Zeus and a mortal.

Feel better.  Not a bad idea to load up on zinc, D, C and a B complex - that and drinking a lot of fluids.  Certainly couldn't hurt.

Got the call this morning from the principal that my youngest was identified as a close contact of someone who tested positive. Apparently the exposure was on Wednesday and they just found out now. Principal said she can return to school with a negative test result. No tests available anywhere nearby unless we want to do a walk up and wait for a couple hours. Ended up spending an hour this morning calling every testing site I could find and found a rite aid 45 min away that can get her in for a test at 4pm. This has been a super fun morning.

I haven’t been sick at all. I guess I can’t get it since everyone else in the house has it.  I’ll continue to get all my necessary vitamins from Chick-fil-a.

Good luck guys.

My youngest was exposed in his aftercare class the 3rd week of December, fortunately we were negative throughout. But we ended up just keeping him home because Covid was running through his class and they were shorthanded. Between the holidays and snow he's had literally one day there the last three weeks (and of course we're paying for it anyway 🤷‍♂️)

As far as vitamins go, I've always understood (and been advised by doctors) that vitamin supplements are a waste of money. You're far better off eating a proper diet and getting your vitamins there.

Just my $.02.

It really barely effected my kids. Granted, they’re vaxxed but my son was completely fine and my daughter had a fever and was wiped out for one night and that was it. My wife’s a different story though.

Could not hurt.  No real downside.

There are some exceptions. Vitamin D for example is harder to fully supplement in areas without a ton of sun (although the dosage given in pill form is usually laughably overkill). Folic acid in pregnant women. Iron for people prone to anemia (usually it's dietary, but some people are more sensitive to it than others). Some B vitamins if you have abnormal/crappy gut flora for whatever reason.

But in general yeah in general the obsession with vitamins is silly.  It's also a largely unregulated "medicine" so who knows what you're actually getting.

Minimal downside though so it's not something I usually harp on for patients too much. Only the ones who think a daily Flintstone gummy is going to balance out a daily Whopper.

Yea I recall being advised by our physicians to buy vitamins in only two cases. Prenatals for the wife when trying to get pregnant and throughout both pregnancies. And supplementing vitamin D for both kids during the first 6 months after birth. I have a slight iron deficiency so I asked about supplementing but I guess there's a situation where you can get too much iron in your blood and it accumulates in your organs.

We do vitamin D during our dark period each year for about three months over here. That’s it though.
