Sad but true

I don’t care what the specifics end up being, but I want voting and buying a firearm to require the same amount of paperwork. If you took a Form 4473 and changed the title to "voting application” it would be the most racist thing ever.

I also want vaccines and abortions to some with the same amount of choice. I’m vaxxed and don’t even care about abortion but we need to be consistent. If we’re pro choice, then we’re pro choice.

This would make sense if abortions we're contagious. They're not. Also there's no ticking clock where after a certain time period someone HAS to get vaccinated. You can choose not to be vaccinated at any point.

Completely asinine comparison.

Pop Pop and his pals would love no more than to make their cost contagious to all of us.

lol at how defensive you are. It’s a simple philosophical question about whether you have control over your body or not. External qualifiers about things being contagious are irrelevant to the central question.

I’d like to see getting a marriage license and getting a boating license to require the same amount of paperwork.  They’re completely unrelated but I just think they should.

You can’t seriously be comparing an abortion to vaccination?  When’s the last time you got raped and knocked up with a vaccine?  Gtfoh with that non sense.  Not even worth a discussion.

You’re right, imagine two constitutional rights requiring the same effort to exercise them. Apples and Oranges.

Truth hurts. Sorry this simple philosophical question evades you.

"Make their cost contagious to all of us"? The F does that mean?  Are you 12 or just stupid?

And if it's a "philosophical question" without consideration of  key factors like, impact on the population (which is kinda a big deal and moronic to ignore) your comment makes even less sense. Zero people are forced to get vaccinated, where's there are laws banning abortion in certain scenarios.

Again it's a really REALLY dumb comparison.

You’re implying that an individual citizen is supposed to bear the burden of "impact on the population” if they don’t stick a needle in their arm. That’s definitely the intelligent stance to have for sure.

Many of Pop Pops Subaru driving supporters certainly feel this way.

Wow. You think someone should have to register their religion with the government before practicing it?  Okay Stalin.

Yes, qualifiers are absolutely relevant for the same reason drunk driving is a choice that not only affects the moron climbing behind the wheel, but everyone else he shares the road with.

By your logic, we shouldn't have drunk driving laws because "my body, my choice" is somehow a valid justification for a behavior that clearly endangers the lives of others.

Almost two years into this and we're still having the same dumb arguments we've had as nauseum since the beginning. How fun.

That’s not what I said at all, I just said exercising these rights should come with the same effort. Lots of paperwork, or none, either way is fine by me. Just looking for consistency.

Ooh I like this game, can I play?

You’re implying that an individual citizen is supposed to bear the burden of "impact on the population” if they don’t sober up before getting behind the wheel. That’s definitely the intelligent stance to have for sure.

The abortion discussion is far from simple and certainly can be discussed in the right way but comparing it to a vaccine is so far off the mark as I said it not worth discussing.

For an infectious disease?  Yes. Mostly because they 100% do.

But again if you want to ignore all other  qualifying factors, the comparison makes even less sense.  Abortion is legally banned in certain situations.  Being unvaccinated is 100% legal no matter what.

For the millionth time, freedom of choice =\= freedom from consequences.

Wow its pretty funny watching people get bent out of shape when they can’t reconcile simple logic. Like I said, I don’t care if we’re pro choice or not, I don’t care if we do a bunch of paperwork or none to exercise our rights. These things aren’t as complicated as we try to make them.

The only one bent of out of shape is the child who tried to engage the adults in a discussion and then was roundly mocked for their infantile logic.

This is one of the most convoluted posts I've ever read on this board, and that is saying something.

Philosophical question for you guys: if Applebees lets me CHOOSE ANY 2 menu items I want in their "pick 2 for $22" deal, why am I not allowed to CHOOSE whether or not to dip my balls into the balsamic dressing container at said Applebees?

And don't give me this "other people don't want your balls in their salad dressing" BS.  This is a strictly philosophical question.

I know I've said it before, but outside of being legitimately retarded, the reason we keep going 'round and 'round with these people is simply because they are so mentally/emotionally weak that the simple admission of ignorance or wrongdoing would break their psyche so badly that they'd completely lose their sense of self.

They. Can't. Be. Wrong. Ever.

Thanks for getting that stupid "fancy like Applebees” song in my head 😆

The new Applebees commercial using the Cheers song is a travesty.
