Figured the :groovy: gave away that I was being facetious. I'll try harder next time. Meanwhile, continue to post these oh so scientific articles with estimates and "other problems" and proclaim them as fact.

You might be one of the most scientifically illiterate people on these boards, and that's saying something. Yes, when you are just starting to investigate something, you make estimates and preliminary conclusions before you have enough data available (guess you missed elementary science class). The article notes that the matter is still currently being studied, and it likely lists "other problems" rather than providing a long list of arcane conditions so that simpletons with short attention spans and no functional scientific knowledge (like yourself) can get quickly get through the article. If you want to know what "other conditions" are included, you could click through the article to the original source, but I know that's too much to ask, since reading is hard and the cost of enlightenment would likely be running into acknowledgement of your own ignorance and the crippling loss of self that comes with right-wingers realizing that they might actually be wrong about something.

Can't be proven right or wrong at this point...just like the 33 1/3% number they threw out there about "long Covid" which runs such a gamut of symptoms it's hilarious. Thanks Bill Nye, but I like many others are done worrying about every little thing Covid. Continue to cluck and worry about it to your heart's content. The only ones who will be experiencing a "crippling loss of self" are people like you who come on here to hand wring together over if/when to test when their girlfriend is sick. Do you even remember how to talk about something other than Covid?

The guy who doesn't care about covid anymore, and says we need to get on with our lives, has now posted in the covid thread 15+ times since last night.

Where in Delaware are you from?

Grew up in Newark technically, but basically Hockessin. Off Limestone Road.

Even MSNBC weighing in on the topic and giving space to the concept of weighing the cost/benefit of masks in schools and the price kids are paying.  About time.

I finally found a silver lining to all this yesterday. Had to give a deposition, and because the lawyer taking the depo was from Nashville, I made him fly into LA and wear an N95 mask the whole time. Dude was super uncomfortable. Shortest deposition ever.

Dude. If you can't afford nosehair trimmers I can start a GoFundMe.

This is what I use. I have to replace the blades monthly but otherwise it gets the job done.

I did need to upgrade ventilation in the master bath though.

I’m anxious to see where we are in a few months.  While I am not totally for mandates, there are some people that need to listen.  Perhaps it was the wrong move to impose them. We won’t know until years from now.  If there is an outbreak nearby I will certainly do what I can to not catch it.  Wearing a mask during these times, and limiting exposure does not bother me in the least.

I had an appointment today and reported that I was sick in December (didn’t need to call them) and tested negative.  Both doc and his wife (a nurse practitioner) had it.  She said it most likely ran thru everyone.  She tested negative one day, positive the next, negative again the next day.  For me, I probably tested too early.  Day 2 of symptoms.  I asked if it feels like bronchitis and she said yes.  Mr Di’s sister just recently got it and is getting better.  Same thing.  Feels like bronchitis.

For us oldies something like bronchitis is not a mild cold.  It takes weeks to feel normal. If we were all unvaccinated no telling how sick we all would have gotten.    My son is unvaccinated, didn’t test and pretty sure he had it after being with people testing positive.  Fever and fatigue no coughing.  Symptom free by day 3-4! I was also around him while symptomatic and I did fine.   That’s why I think I had it.   Such a strange virus.

Living what life I have left but guard still up.  It is still a novel virus after all.

And if she would have tested again after the second negative she probably would have tested positive, that should tell you the tests aren't worth a damn......for crying out loud use your head for something other than a hat rack

What this tells you is, as she is a medical professional and vaccinated her viral load was picked up one day and not the next.   She had covid.  What is your point?   Oh right, the ol head rack one. Got it.  You are so helpful.

My point is "her viral load was picked up one day and not the next" is bullsheet, I mean, negative, positive, negative, what is this a now you see me/not you don't type of virus?

The test is flawed in that what they're looking for they can find in everyone, it all depends on the number of cycles performed, moreover, the "virus" has never been isolated which means they don't even know what they're looking for.

To prove the  "virus" exist (they've never done so)  kochs postulates must be followed as follows:

–1. The microorganism must be found in the diseased animal, and not found in healthy animals.

–2. The microorganism must be extracted and isolated from the diseased animal and subsequently grown in culture.

–3. The microorganism must cause disease when introduced to a healthy experimental animal.

–4. The microorganism must be extracted from the diseased experimental animal and demonstrated to be the same microorganism that was originally isolated from the first diseased animal.

And what if these damn Chinese tripping around in the bat caves f’d up in a lab and it went global?   Since we don’t know how or if they did it, how in the heck do you test for it?   Other than starting with the SARS tests we already have and developing new ones.  That’s how.  900K dead is nothing to sneeze about.  Keep living in your pretend world.

I don't get it. Kid was awesome in school and now all the sudden can't learn all because of a facemask? At 10 years old? Something doesn't add up.

I could see it maybe causing some emotional maladjustment in young kids who don't understand what's going on, but I get the sense that this type of parent just joins in the pity party instead of explaining the situation and helping them understand it as a minor, temporary challenge that they can overcome.
