Makes way more sense now. Normal people work with nutritionists. Well, ones that aren't poor. So not you. EDIT: In all seriousness, it's something I did when I turned 40. I wanted to really start training hard and eating right to try and live as long as possible. Nothing scares me more than death.

I was gonna say, if simply telling your nutritionist about something you ate would give him or her a stroke, he or she is probably not living a very healthy lifestyle and they may want to consider changing their diet.

Lately I have been making them thick wedges with the skin on, and using a little oil, grated parm cheese, Italian seasoning garlic powder and salt. I will sometimes dip fries in BBQ sauce if I am out eating ribs or something, it's definitely better than ketchup. There's a place nearby that does a garlic aioli, parmesan and herb fries. They're killer. And poutine. My wife and I got a couples Xmas gift of flavored olive oils. That gives me some ideas.

That's how I am. I believe death means you are just gone, like turning off a light. I find that very scary.

Yeah, I'm not religious either so you just have to accept when you're done, you're done. As I get older I'm sure that will be more difficult to do. I remember reading (or seeing a survey) of a country that feared spiders more than death. I wish I could remember where it was.

Yeah, when I hit 40, it really hit me like a ton of bricks. I thought I was in good shape, but I was still eating the wrong things and working out the wrong way. My weight really hasn't changed since I started working with him (still hover around 130). But my bod fat has dropped from almost 19% to below 6%. I have a ton more energy and can now design workout patterns that make sense.

Just turned 40 last September and in good shape. I do a lot of "work outs" that aren't really workouts, like riding my bike, township basketball league, etc. And I eat pretty healthy M-F with the occasional pizza, cheesesteak, etc. on weekends. I'm sure one day it's gonna catch up with me though and I'm gonna wake up like @bobeph 2 minutes ago, vikas83 said: Yeah, when I hit 40, it really hit me like a ton of bricks. Not weight loss, but in body composition.

I spent most of my late teens, 20's and early to mid 30's lifting. I've lost some bulk as I stopped a few years ago, but maintaining a nice shape with just cardio and isometrics.

One side of my family lives till 80 at the minimum. Quite a few in the 100s. Same side of the family there is a lot of stupidity and\or mental illness. (Other side of the family is smart but croaks early)

Got out of shape in my 20s due to the hours of investment banking -- nothing crazy, but just a ton of caffeine and fast food. In my 30s I was running, elliptical, etc. and eating better, but I still chugged like 10 Diet Cokes a day. Now, I'm all Peloton to make things easier on the knees. I still can't completely give up soda -- still have 2 Coke Zeros a day. But I drink a TON of water now, which is just about the healthiest thing you can do.

Yeah I do a 12 pack of the Coke Zero mini cans...lasts me about 3-4 weeks, but soda was always my vice too. Outside of that it's water or unsweetened iced t with a little fresh lemon juice. I also work fully from home and have two kids who love snacks, so the temptations are always hard. My go to snack is honeydew.
