I made my points.  You keep editing my posts to cherry pick what you want to argue instead of comment on the entirety of my points.

The best way to ensure the entirety of your posts will be taken seriously is by tossing in zingers like "Lord Fauci". You sure showed him!

Right because if something is milder than the delta variant, then it must be a mild cold. Clearly no room for any shades of gray between the deadliest virus in over a century and a common cold. Good call.

I said the symptoms are basically the common cold.  Obviously we're still dealing with Omicron variant of COVID not literally a cold.  But even the experts are talking about no need for more lockdowns or shutting down the economy, herd immunity and moving in the direction of cold/flu seasons where we've had annual flu shots to combat the latest strains.  So keeping children in masks at school while hypocritical administrators and politicians pose for photos maskless with kids in masks makes no sense.

You're talking to a wall at this point.

Except the part where they're not.

Add on the fact that the experts are now saying that the Covid boosters last much longer than originally thought, and there’s even more reason to end the mask policies once a certain level of vaccination has been reached which in alot of states were at a high enough level to let the herd immunity do it’s job.

there’s a good amount of people that even when this is all over, it’ll never fully be over for them.  That’s why I’m saddened by the reaction and decision of some kids to continue wearing masks.  We’ve created a perpetual fear in them.

Government ordered mask mandates should end (and they are), but businesses should be free to do as they like. All the anti-mask crusaders saying it's about freedom are more than happy to support GOP governors who are trying to tell businesses they can't have vaccine or mask mandates. And I'd still support allowing insurance companies to deny coverage to the unvaccinated.

Per usual, the only bi-partisanship is the commitment to hypocrisy.

Oh right, because the national guard gets regularly deployed to help with over burdened hospitalized for people being admitted with common cold symptoms.

I'm going to argue like you now.  My reply:

So you think kids should be forced to wear masks while adults can be in the same room with them maskless.  You support hypocrites.  Got it.

Time to back pedal... How many common colds have you had that cause fever, shortness of breath, and myalgia?

It doesn't square with reality. Anecdotal, of course, but I don't think anyone I've known that has gone through this recently would describe their symptoms as "just a cold." It totally wiped them out for at least a couple days. Even if COVID is becoming less severe, that doesn't mean it's now "just a cold." It seems like we're now content to just act like it's a cold if it isn't as bad as it's been.

You want to take everything literal and argue for pages for some reason.  There were lots of news reports that Omicron symptoms are like the cold and people may not know the difference so should get tested to be sure.  Jesus Christ you people are dense.

Then you mean the hypocritical administrators and politicians posing for maskless photos with kids did the right thing?  I disagree.

Just because it can be like a cold for some people is a lot different than categorically stating that this virus is "just a cold" now and acting like the pandemic is already over. All this does is encourage ignorant people to ve careless.

Just a couple examples.  I mean I know we're living in Orwell's 1984 now but you guys do remember that the news reported Omicron was similar to the cold?

Recently, reports have emerged that the more recent variants of COVID like Omicron have caused symptoms in people that have been described as like those of a cold. As such, people have been advised to get a COVID test even if they only have cold-like symptoms as their illness could be COVID and they could spread it to other people.

If you're experiencing a sore throat, runny nose, or fever, you're likely wondering which illness you have.

While the Omicron and Delta variants continue to drive COVID cases globally, many of the symptoms are similar to the typical cold or flu.

If you're wondering whether that runny nose, sore throat or sneeze is simply allergies, just a cold, or possibly early signs of COVID-19 or the flu, you're not alone.

With many experiencing cold-like symptoms, and with COVID and flu cases rising this winter, it can be hard to decipher what could be behind the onset of symptoms.

Experts say the only real way to know the answer is to test, but until then, health officials say to treat any possible symptoms as COVID.

"If you think it's a cold, if you think it's the flu, it's probably COVID," Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady said in a press conference late last month. "We need you to stay home if you're not feeling well."

Yeah no ish, sherlock. This has been the case since the beginning of the pandemic. Did you also recently learn that some infected people may be asymptomatic as well? I bet you would've if you weren't spending all your time on whatever Facebook group you follow to get all those super hilarious Fauci memes.

Plenty of people I know have had almost no issues whatsoever. Others were wiped out for a few days. Most at my work were ok to keep working remote. A few were totally out for two to three days. Anecdotal on my end.

Ok, so it seems that there are a range of largely unpredictable symptoms and individuals react quite differently to infection, so trying to whitewash this virus as "just a cold" is ignorant at best and disingenuous at worst.

are the symptoms still worse for the non-vaxxed vs the vaxxed?

Omicron is definitely less severe. Let's all just calm down and breathe...which we can do since we don't have COVID.

It is just a cold if even that for over 99% of vaccinated, I am pretty much done with this thread but it amazes me the amount of anti vax rhetoric coming from so called pro vax people is amazing

These clowns hear "omicron may cause cold-like symptoms in some people" and by the time it gets processed by their brains, they think it's a universal descriptor, despite the fact that nearly a third of the country is still unvaccinated and only a quarter is boosted. Then they come on here, call it the common cold, and blame others for "bEiNg ToO LiTeRal."
