These clowns hear "omicron may cause cold-like symptoms in some people" and by the time it gets processed by their brains, they think it's a universal descriptor, despite the fact that nearly a third of the country is still unvaccinated and only a quarter is boosted. Then they come on here, call it the common cold, and blame others for "bEiNg ToO LiTeRal."

Listen, I'm not going to say it again. Leave my friend Dr. Philly alone.

It is just a cold if even that for over 99% of vaccinated.

And you would be wrong.

Ok, so it seems that there are a range of largely ubpredictable symptoms and individuals react quite differently to infection, so trying to whitewash this virus as "just a cold" is ignorant at best and disingenuous at worst.

I’ve never said it was "just a cold” but the fact remains that the large majority of people experience quite mild symptoms. That’s just a fact. Doesn’t mean some others don’t get quite sick. I suppose it also is a bit dependent on how one defines "a cold”.

Even though your numbers are a bit off, he still didn't say, "it's just a cold for vaccinated people".

are the symptoms still worse for the non-vaxxed vs the vaxxed?

Yes. By a significant amount if you compare boosted vs unvaccinated.

For the State of Virginia, almost same for Jersey so I doubt much difference throughout country

Yeah no ish, sherlock. This has been the case since the beginning of the pandemic. Did you also recently learn that some infected people may be asymptomatic as well? I bet you would've if you weren't spending all your time on whatever Facebook group you follow to get all those super hilarious Fauci memes.

What the hell are you even going on about now?  Geezus.

Then tell the health experts and media outlets to not talk about cold-like symptoms.

Virtually identical.

And your proof of this is ?

Omicron is definitely less severe. Let's all just calm down and breathe...which we can do since we don't have COVID.

So you're saying the pandemic is over and no one will get sick anymore?!

:P

People whose vaxxed status is undetermined get listed as unvaccinated. Do your research.

I am done with covid, I closed my research facility, you can do it for me

You need to be clear if you mean boosted or not when you say vaccinated...

During the proxy omicron period, we found a vaccine effectiveness of 70% (95% confidence interval [CI], 62 to 76), a finding that was supported by the results of all sensitivity tests. This measure of vaccine effectiveness was significantly different from that during the comparator period, when the rate was 93% (95% CI, 90 to 94) against hospitalization for Covid-19 (Table 2).

^This was for 2 doses of Pfizer. A third bumped it up into the mid 90s.

Disingenuous at best. You talk about saying "Lord Fauci" then post nonsense like this.

You know damn well it was reported that Omicron symptoms are cold-like symptoms, and yes there are some symptoms that differ and they also said flu-like symptoms.  I posted links to news sites but you didn't have any comment on those quotes.

The point I made which is correct is that the Omicron variant is less severe and doesn't require lockdowns and shutting down the economy, per the experts.  I never said it IS the common cold or that it's "just a cold" despite the repeat misquotes from people who want to take everything literal, then exaggerate, twist and cherry pick everything you say regardless of clarifications.  My point was since Omicron is less severe with basically cold symptoms, we don't need to make kids wear masks while adults don't.

The issue isn't with vaccine effectiveness. The "common cold symptoms" statement was applied universally but when we live in a country where 1 out of 3 people are unable to make the simplest of choices to protect themselves and their families, then those cold symptoms still somehow managed to magically cripple our hospitals.

There's a really simple answer to this...

 What lockdowns? What shutdowns to our economy? What are you even talking about? When did you turn into a Fox News flunky?

If it's forced castration for the unvaccinated, I'm on board.
