July 1, 20205 yr We are supposed to go to Myrtle Beach (north Myrtle) for a family reunion the first week of August. I really don't want to go, but everyone will blame me for ruining the family reunion if I don't. If anyone gets out that way, please let me know how crowded it is, and if it's even remotely possible to social distance.

While I'm sad we cancelled our Sandbridge, VA beach house for the 4th week, I see that VA is also starting to get rising numbers. Luckily, the house did rent at a lower price so we should see something back. At least I didn't lose the total deposit. I'm also glad the beach cottage is private property. Someday I'll be able to stay over after I get plumbing and electric.

Decided to bag it this year and take a long weekend in OCMD instead. There were some reports of families coming back from Myrtle with the VID. 14 minutes ago, paco said: We were in Brig all last week. Can't decide which way to go with this one 1) I'm sure it will improve it 2) Someone sure thinks highly of themselves 3) A third thing

Maybe if I can teach the 10 year old to drive by August, everyone will win.

Now its been 7 years since I've last made the trip, so things may change but.... From a purely golf standpoint, the sweet spot is to go the day after Thanksgiving. All the courses drop their rates, they are at like 25% capacity, and its still warm enough for shorts.

Posting pictures of large gatherings at his house to show he was not on board with any type of social distancing during this situation. I hope he gets it.

July 1, 20205 yr idk about where you live but many schools in this area sent out surveys asking parents what they'd like to see when school starts back up in the fall. just got a letter from my kid's school saying 74% of parents want normal back to school...of course assuming all health precautions are taken. i'll be surprised if that happens.

I think its going to be a weird hybrid thing where they split the kids up. Half will go MWF the other on T-TH then the next week they will switch. That's what they're talking about doing here anyway. Fortunately our CEO said we aren't going back to the office any time soon. I told him until the company is comfortable with sending us all on planes again, probably better to keep working from home.

Fairfax in VA one of the largest school districts is giving the option of full time online or two days a week in class as independent study
July 1, 20205 yr Our district is looking at either full-time in school if we stay green or 2 days in school (kids split Mon-Weds and Tue-Thur) with 3 days online if we revert to yellow. Teachers would have a work/planning day on Friday since they'll be doing more work to prepare, review, and monitor in person and online lessons if we go yellow.
