It was about the only good thing he allowed his administration to do during his term. They told Trump to step back and let the doctors handle it. And he did. His best work was when he sat back and did nothing to ruin it.
April 30, 20241 yr Operation Warp Speed was a clear success, but mostly for Moderna's vaccine since BioNTech/Pfizer didn't take research funding from it like Moderna did and their only money came from agreements to purchase the doses of the vaccine itself after it had already been developed. And it was actually authorized for use in the UK prior to the FDA authorizing it here so that vaccine was going to be a home run whether the US government stepped up to the plate or not. The agreement to purchase BioNTech doses was more of a hedge against limited supply in early 2021 than it was to speed up the process of that candidate's development. The risk in not purchasing a vaccine developed in another country was being locked out of an efficacious vaccine had Moderna's candidate failed like CureVac's did or was delayed multiple times like Novavax's. As it turned out, both of the authorized vaccines were efficacious and we had enough supply to hit almost everyone that wanted one by late spring / early summer.

They still make not funny Bill Clinton jokes and talk about how the Clinton's are offing people. Basically, anything that came into the ether from the start of the Rush/Fox News media revolution on, they'll be talking about until the end of the century. It's when they were first introduced into rage hating half of America, and it broke them as people.

April 30, 20241 yr Here’s the thing. In other countries far away from the bad guy Republicans people also talk about COVID and will for a generation or two. Seems quite natural given what the world went thru.
