Just a bit tired, bit of a cough, low fever (max 100), headache... Wife a couple days ahead of me.Going to get it once a year I suppose. So far, my wife has not got it at all, and I have only gotten it one time. It was pretty mild for me. The biggest problem for me was quarantining for a week.

May 16May 16 26 minutes ago, Tnt4philly said:So it wasn’t effective keeping him from getting COVID or being hospitalized, but did he live? The vaccine is 95% effective in preventing hospitalization in people under 65. The remaining 5% are presumably immunocompromised. So either his friend is much older, is in the latter category, or he's just lying and hadn't received a booster in over 6 months, more likely a year. I have my theory.
May 16May 16 Some details on my situation. I've had COVID four times including in the 1st week of Feb 2020 just as it started to hit the West. The first go round was pretty rough with lots of painful muscle spasms, fever up to 103/104, etc. The other three bouts were quick and relatively issue free. As for the vaccine, I've had four shots with the last one a couple years back. The 3rd and 4th shots brought a couple weeks of heart flutter/discomfort so I've decided to forgo more for now and will reassess as I approach 65. I don't have any health issues generally and in decent shape thru weight lifting workouts and some aerobic stuff. Both my wife and I are fine. She's over it now and I'm close. I almost played golf today but probably did the right thing to hold off.

May 16May 16 I had covid twice but later. After vaccinated and after the Delta strain. I had a friend die of Delta right when the 1st vaccine was available. He didn't take it. Another friend just before vaccine time was hospitalized twice and actually suffered a stroke. Medical people took great care of her, and she is still unvaccinated and doing well today. I understand this since she was severely infected. A young co worker of mine unvaccinated lived thru being ventilated for almost 3 days. He was actually an undiagnosed diabetic. He is doing really well today. Is medicated for the diabetes and thriving. I really haven't processed. I understand trying to vaccinate people to lower their symptoms, yet it didn't stop the spread. It needed to go where it needed to go and mutate. Some mutation's more dangerous than others. Let's just hope we don't live thru another pandemic.

One of my high school friend's little sister died and hadn't been vaccinated. She was a great athlete at Unionville and a national field hockey and lacrosse player. She had been running marathons and doing triathlons later in life and had just run a marathon a month before she got sick. She passed within two weeks of catching COVID.

Feel better!
